I mean we're facing the best pitching staff we're going to see all year. We're within 1 run after having faced the best starter in the nation, all the while pitching no weekend starters. I'd say we're in an alright position

Not really making excuses but multiple walks were taken away by a massive zone. Us not adjusting to the zone is frustrating.

Not facing the best pitcher in the entire nation, who is averaging over 2 strikeouts per inning, never given up more than 3 hits in an entire game until tonight, and allowed 6 runs the ENTIRE season has to give. LSU, believe it or not, has hit this dude better than anyone else this season.

Been saying since pre-season no lively bats and timely hitting. The white Travinsky duo have sporadic power streaks but are inconsistent. The bottom of the order is damn near automatic outs.

We quite literally lost to this same starter last year…with Paul Skenes pitching…so I wouldn’t sweat us struggling tonight. Smith is pretty darn good.

Brasewell did adjust to it

did you not see how ridiculous he looked swinging on his strikeout? When you're calling shite off the plate, strikeouts are going to happen

Not necessarily surprised by the Ks because of how good smith is, but 0 walks is no bueno.

and allowed 6 runs the ENTIRE season

I believe over half of them were in the first inning of the season too

Seems like every SEC series so far, we get beat by the “best pitcher in the country”.
Maybe we just are sec average, at best, hitting the ball?
