If we retain McSleepy after this season, it would be the biggest slap in the face to this fanbase RIGHT AFTER we just upgraded our football coaches

I lived through Hallman. Ed O won a freaking national title.
Hallman never had a winning season. No bowls. Not even an Independence Bowl.
Nothing.
At LSU football
If you lived through Hallman, like I did as well, then you recall LSU football in the early 90's was NOT the LSU football Ed Orgeron inherited. At the time Hallman took the job LSU had not won a NC in over 30 years. In fact, LSU had gone 4-7 and 5-6 in the two seasons that preceded the Hallman hire. Contrast that to what O took over...a program that in the 19 years prior had won 2 NCs, played for another, and only had two seasons since 2000 where it failed to win at least 9 games.
Hallman took over a bad program and essentially maintained that level of futility. But for even as bad as Hallman was, McMahon's poor performance has eclipsed it. Hallman won .32% of his SEC games. Barring a minor miracle, McMahon is going to finish his 4th season with an SEC winning TEN points LOWER than that! Plus, Hallman only finished last or second to last in the SEC once in four seasons (1992). Right now McMahon is on pace to finish last/second to last for the 3rd time in 4 years.

It had to be experienced to fully comprehend. I think there was even one year where not a single LSU player was drafted.
You're experiencing the futility of McMahon RIGHT NOW. If Hallman only had one season where no LSU player was drafted that would be a significant improvement over McMahon who has NEVER had an LSU player drafted...in (going on) 4 seasons. Like I said, you just aren't fully appreciating how bad McMahon has been because you don't care enough about basketball to contextualize it.
While Hallman may be the standard of futility that all LSU football coaches will forever be judged against, McMahon is the standard against all other coaches, any sport, will be judge against. NO ONE, in decades, has had such a poor 4 year performance...in any LSU sport.

If LSU goes 1-4 in its last five games, McMahon will finish 17-55 in the SEC in four seasons (.208 winning percentage).
If he goes 0-5 would his percentage be below .200?

I know there's rumors LSU is going to try to avoid the buyout to keep MM here for another season but I just cannot see how. There will be zero excitement next year, even if he streaks through the OOC schedule. Everybody has seen this movie before.
Seeing Florida, Vandy, Arkansas and Bama absolutely filling their gyms and going balls out hurts my soul.

Even second-tier teams-- Texas A&M, Missouri and Mississippi State are doing the same, and it showed out in the games last night -- big upsets in home games with the home crowd rocking. It used to be that way at LSU.
