The payments may have been made to the fiancée of a VCU player, but they were made while he was at LSU. The violation stemming from his lack of cooperation with investigators happened while he was at LSU. Had LSU not cooperated and turned a blind eye to those violations, there’s a good chance they would have issued stronger penalties to the institution and not gone light on the Level 1 football violation. They were given the benefit of the doubt on that one based on their response.

The $5K WW gave out of his own funds to the girl engaged to a VCU player was while WW was at VCU. She did not report it until WW was at LSU, but it was a penalty which occurred while WW was at VCU.
No $$$-related charge against WW while WW was at LSU was never prooved. The whole affair was an absurdity based on an illegally-gained convo with an agent, a convo that was supposed to be private and not leaked to the Press.
IMO, WW should not have been fired. But he is gone and not coming back and I am an LSU Basketball fan, so Go Tigers!

LSU hired Wade in March 2017. Per the report findings, the payments were between at least April 2017 and November 2017.
