He was incoming before we got Luis and Arambide was still up in the air. Once those two were locks, Priester became more of an insurance policy.

Shores' gets drafted. As for Noot, if he isn't drafted, does he have a spot on the team. He hasn't done much in 3 years. Same for a couple others.

ere is one big name that LSU has been after for a while but he hasn’t entered the portal yet.
If we are thinking of the same guy, I think it's 50/50 on if he enters the portal or not.

Damn dude. Noot is just now getting back an arm injury. I think he had TJ. How about we give him a full season of being healthy and worked back in to see what he does?

Man, just a question. With rosters being reduced, those are decisions that will have to be made. I get he was hurt and missed 2 seasons. At times he looked good and at times he didn't. These were things Bertman and Manieri said they used to have to do. Maybe he transfers also.

Whatever man. If you don't think those are things Jay and his staff are going to talk about, then go back and find Bertman and Maneiri talking about having to tell a kid they didn't have a spot for them going forward, so if you get drafted sign, or you have to transfer. Rosters going down 34 is a huge deal.

Noot has a spot if he doesn’t go pro lol

He probably does have a spot. I could also see him transferring.

why would a guy getting consistent playing time transfer?
Posted on 6/4/25 at 3:13 pm to SammyTiger
It’s the next step in his crawfish
Posted on 6/4/25 at 3:19 pm to SammyTiger
Maybe he wants to be a starter and looks at who else is coming back ,and decides there are easier paths. I am just using Noot as an example. But it is a possibility.

Frey will leave if drafted by the 12th round range
Then he's gone.

He's a fluid athlete. He doesn't need to stand out in left field for 60 college games to tell the pros anything more than they can already discern.
On one of the pay boards, I gave the example of Cam Smith with Houston. He's been a 3B his entire life. Then, in the middle of spring training, he moved to RF and was the opening day starter. I don't know if Frey is as athletic as Smith but agree with you 100% about Frey. His bat will get him drafted and because of his athleticism, he will find a position long before his bat his ready for big leagues, if he is fortunate enough to advance to that level.

He’s going to be a starter here if he comes back

Anyone gets a rash of pitching injuries is fricked
Seems like it would be wise for teams have a couple of two way players on their roster. Jake Brown, Dalton Beck, for example. If we get low on pitching, they can fill in on weeknight games or games that are out of hand.

He will be given the opportunity to start as well as Schmidt.
Would like to see another pitcher or two be taken from the portal
