Have a buddy that has seen KU play some this year.
He said they have lost a lot on the mound and at the corner outfield spots. He expected them to sneak into regionals last year but doesn't expect them to this year unless the freshman really come through.
He said they do have 2 pretty good starters. One righty that's a senior and one lefty transfer.
The games he saw..the catcher Tinsley was a work in progress behind the plate but had good gap power at the plate.
The Stony Brook transfer had 1 single during one game(3 AB's) but the next game he went to he hit 2 homers.
He seems to think Price will throw this young pitchers early in the season to see how they react knowing he will need some of them to step up to have a chance at the postseason, which might end up nice for us.
One that he named specifically was Wieman, a lanky lefty. Said he went about 4-5 innings giving up 3 hits and 1 run.
