LSU championship countdown day 2 1993.
The Tigers and the Shockers would rematch for the 93 title. The Shockers made it to the world series on strong hitting defense and pitching. edit: they sent out a freshman not their #2 pick.
LSU on the other hand had to rally in all 3 of their games to make it to Omaha. The most memorable moment of this title wasn’t from the championship game but rather what got LSU in. Todd Walker one of the greatest hitters in LSU history hit a base hit to beat Long Beach State 6-5.
This game wasn’t even close, LSU jumped out quick and big. Strong hitting and more importantly a strong outing by Brett Laxton, a record setting appearance, carried LSU. Laxton threw a complete game shutout and set the record for most strike outs in a championship game up to that point in history.
Tigers won 8-0
This was Skip’s second title in 6 appearnces in Omaha, even though they didn’t win it back to back years, LSU won it for a second straight time when they made it to Omaha.

I hope Lange finds the strike zone...not that he is wild but walks kill in college. And maybe the scrimmage format caused some of this with coaches working on things during the action.
