To say the Jordans have reached their ceilings is ridiculous. Remember how Stevenson and Robertson couldn't hit at all their first years as full time starters? Plate discipline and pitch recognition can absolutely be coached and learned.

Terrible comparison...Kramer Robertson and Andrew Stevenson are light years away from the baseball players/athletes that the twins are. Being a "grinder" and a "dirt bag" only gets you so far.

The comparison is that they were lost at the plate and then learned how to hit high-level college pitching. And the twins have more power too.

how is it a terrible comparison?
Kramer was bad as a sophomore. Bryce Jordan was 1st team all SEC. Jordan clearly had a bigger impact. Being a better athlete mattered little, there. Why can't Jordan improve as a hitter?
Jordan's OPS trumped Jake Fraley's as a Soph too.
There are grinder's in the major league. Cause they get shite done despite their limitations.

Seriously though, take out 15 of those HBP and his OBP wasn't shite. Neither Jordan brother will be in the starting lineup next year too much talent coming in. They'll be surpassed a la Alex Edward. I can't take seriously a "power hitter" who only drove in 4 runs the last 30 games of the season add in the terrible attitude and you've got a recipe for a bench player. They played this year as a necessity. Next year with all the talent they'll be drowned in the depth chart.

why are we taking away HBP again?
you do realize he was 2nd on the team in SLG and HR in SEC games?

It's pretty bad when you lead the team in RBI and then once the gauntlet sec schedule begins you have only FOUR for the remainder of the year. Beau Jordan brought nothing to the table the entire SEC slate. Below average fielder, runner, arm, hitter and hit for average. There were kids on the bench that if given 60 games of consistent ABs could have batted .285 and have the 2nd lowest SLG on the team I guarantee that.
Bryce's stats are inflated because he leans into pitches. So OPS and OBP are overstated. He had a decent average but he, too didn't hit well against top pitching especially the last 2 months. You're one of the only people on here who didn't see what we all saw, which was two guys playing because there was "no other option" and they brought little to the table. I guaranteed kids like Wofford, Breaux, Slaughter, Smith and Watson will be given more than a fair shot at their positions. They did absolutely nothing to be "locked in" to a starting spot. It is what it is. What's sad is Mainieri actually benched the wrong Jordan on Sunday. His blind love for them can and will only go so far.

Wofford, Breaux
Have looked like lost freshmen all year. Not saying they can't improve either of course.

Neither was allowed to be garbage for 30 games including the playoffs. Anyone can look "unlost" when given 250 ABs regardless of how terrible you are. It's very hard to hit for average when you're getting one at bat every 5 games in mop up time. Most MLB players say It takes 4 weeks to get timing down. Hence the reason spring training is a month long. Beau and Pap were the only people allowed that to work on their issues for that long of time. We will never know what happens if Adams, Breaux, Wofford, or Dawson were allowed consistent ABs.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 7:07 pm to Tigahs1977
Dawson started the first 4 games and went hitless.
Posted on 6/14/16 at 7:07 pm to TigersforEver
4 games is roughly 15 at bats. 30 games is roughly 150 at bats. Little bit different of a sample size, no?

Huh? You're going to hate on him for this? Good god you really really don't understand baseball.
overstated.

A decent average? He hit .342 in Sec play dumbass.
Jesus I'm done responding to you.

Andrew Stevenson looked like a lost puppy his freshman year behind the plate. Wofford and Breaux can and will get better if they put in the time and dedication .
Edit. I screwed up and said behind the plate instead of at the plate. Long day of work. However, it's funny so imma leave it.

He would most certainly have been lost had he ended up BEHIND the plate. Ha.

Is pooch seriously considering coming back?
Posted on 6/14/16 at 8:19 pm to Andy Bernard
I sure hope so. Maybe we can finally find a 3rd starter (Gilbert?) and maybe even a 4th. (Latz/McKay/freshman?).
Posted on 6/14/16 at 8:40 pm to Andy Bernard
Poche is heavily leaning toward coming back, Freeman is too but less heavily. Kramer is coming back. My guess is Stallings will probably end up signing and Bugg will stay at LSU for one more year.

No, we never will. But we pay coaches to watch them practice EVERY frickING DAY!!!
Those coaches pick the guys who are most likely to succeed and give them more reps.
