Well it appears that going to Texas has this team jinxed and Arkansas beat Texas like the proverbial drum!

The regular season meant absolutely nothing for LSU the past 2 years.

Then you went toon to say this
quote:

The only way it hurt LSU last year is that they weren't a #1 seed last year and they had to travel for the regional.

There is a very large gap between #1 seed and having to travel for a regional.
quote:

That isn't the case this year.

They won't be traveling for a regional, but they could still be traveling for a super regional, which is a very big deal.

I know enough about baseball to know that LSU can come back at the next game....beat Arkansas or whomever like a drum and develop the best team hitting average's than all the other teams from here on out and windup winning the National Championship! Why? Because that's BASEBALL!!

OK, will let coach know your thoughts and suggestions. He may want to hire you as an assistant coach.

You don’t think winning conference games matters?

Winning conference games in line to get a Top 8 national seed matters. We are currently in top 8 national seed space so are on the mark.

CJJ is doing exactly what he needs to get this team ready for the postseason. These pinch hit scenarios will come up, likely many times, this postseason & CJJ needs to know who will deliver & who wont. Only way to do that is to give them chances when it matters & not just in mop up duty.

His teams (@ Arizona & LSU) have always played their best baseball at the end of the season & into the postseason. No reason to believe this team wont follow that same trajectory.

I mean that is fine, if you also disagree with moves such as going to Primeaux to face Laviolette and striking him out. Is going L vs L tinkering too much too?
___________

To question some of his moves, doesn't mean you question all of them. Did you like pinching for Hernandez in that spot?

When the games start to matter (post season) Jay has a lineup and sticks with it.

Not entirely true. Don't remember Beloso batting leadoff vs Fl in game 3 for the first time that year?

We are in a similar to spot as multiple other SEC teams. There will be ups and downs. We have a very good team. If they put it all together they can make a deep run. But if they hit like they did this weekend, they likely aren’t getting out of a super regional.

You are correct. We just like all other SEC team fans don't trust their teams due to the strength of the conference. We beat each other up, we look good one week and bad the next. It makes watching the games more fun. It's like waiting for the ping pong balls with your number on it to show up. Enjoy the rollercoaster ride

I wish we would try and manufacture more runs i.e. bunt when we have runners on base instead of bunting the lead off hitters etc. I think we'll be fine though.

Sure, lineups don’t matter a bit. Analytics are just wasting their time on it to have something else to do.

Well. This weekend's series will define the regular season. Win the series and we are a nation seed (top 8) imo. Lose the series, and we host a regional but may be traveling for a Super

Our bats can't get going, the inconsistency is extremely frustrating to watch. Especially on the road, hitting is non-existent. Lefties own our lineup, and we have got to get better against that. Jay keeps messing with the lineup which I completely disagree with.

“Our offense is broken”

“Why does our coach keep trying to change our broken offense”

Some of you are irreconcilably dense

If players step up and start hitting more consistently he would not have to do this.

Why do people keep saying this? This is just not the case at all.
