lol wat? He did okay this year. He seemed to get lazy on pitches and lets them get behind him. HE isnt all time defensive player at all.

Surely you jest about Cresse. Great hitter, below average arm for a catcher. His backup was a great defensive catcher, Ryan Jorgensen.

LF - Jared Mitchell
CF - Mike Koerner/Leon Landry
RF - Mikie Mahtook (kinda a reach)

lulz. this guy can't be serious. The only position I could agree on, or any reasonably knowledgeable LSU baseball fan for that matter, is maybe Mahtook in RF and MAYBE nola at SS. Ty Ross isn't in the top 3 of this decade.

DJ L might not be the all time best, but that jumping catch in omaha still gives me goosebumps.

Matt Clark was one of the best defensive 1st basemen LSU has ever seen.

Can't have a 1B discussion without Zeph Zinsman.

Armando Rios was a fantastic CF back in the day. He seemed to run anything down. Solid hitter as well, ask Wichita St. However, the Mitchell Report and Balco stuff don't help his cause.

Yeah we wouldn't want to mention Ryan Theriot. You know the guy whose started/contributed in MLB for what 7 seasons now.

lol. Theriot is not a good defensive player. Prob the worst from Bertman era to present time

Nola, Aaron Hill, Josh Dalton, Hollander were all better SS defensively

Nola is by far the best imo

One of the best defensive plays of all time, so I'll give him some love.

And you're high saying Theriot is the worst of the Bertman era

Ty Ross threw out a very high percentage of runners this year so that's what I was basing it off of. Jorgensen is definitely a cut above. Micah Gibbs and Cresse were more valuable offensively.

Mr. Triple Pump throwing problems throughout his career? Did he turn it around and I forgot about it, Lester? I seemed to remember when he took over in 1998 (21 errors, woof) it was a step back.

1999 22 Errors

He out-errored Larson, which is a dubious distinction. Obviously errors and fielding percentage don't tell the whole story, but they certainly don't make a compelling case for Dalton being better than Theriot.

Theriot made 17 errors playing 2B in 1999
made 19 errors as the SS in 2000
made 32 errors in 2001 at SS

WOOF!!!
