I'm excited for the for the five threads the first time Thompson strikes out or makes a bad play.

The pre-season hype means it's going to be a rough go on this board from the very start of the season. The morons will be out early and often.

Oh I have a feeling Thompson is going to be an interesting discussion all year. I expect him to have a good year but a of people on the rant have already decided he sucks. It will take a while, if they ever do, for people to accept he is a good player and every mistake will be magnified.

You are way too conservative. Only takes a bad inning, or hell a walked batter, for the Rant to go full retard.

There will be a lot of football mentality fringe baseball fans that will make the inevitable losses insufferable on here.

Part of what I liked about CPM was his teams usually got off to a slow start and those people would lose interest and then you could have reasonable baseball discussions for a month or so before LSU would eventually go on a late run and the fringe guys would come back for the postseason.

One of the very few negatives coming out of fall is that there is no legit backup at SS. I suppose it has become Nippolt by defautl. Who has limited time at the position.

Sounds like you are expecting this team to lose a game. That will not happen. Buckle up Grandson. You are going to be thrown off this bull.

And those seasons for those teams were a failure.

This is an Omaha team. Anything less than that this season is a failure. Doesn’t mean Jay Johnson isn’t a good coach or that the program isn’t going in the right direction but it does mean that for this particular team in 2023 they did not succeed.

Fair or not, when you are thought of highly enough to be considered the best team in the sport the expectations are at least to reach the CWS. Anything less would be failing to meet those expectations (save for something like a rash of injuries to key players).

-Home sweeps vs poor teams
-Home series wins vs the rest
-Road series wins vs lesser teams
-Take at least one on the road vs
upper level SEC opponents.
- have an identity and wining formula come post season and advance

LSU Baseball - Manage Expectation

The first time we fall behind, this place will melt, they will want JJ fired, Woody fired, and Kim fired becasue she's Kramer's mom, of course.

Don't care about win lost record. Just a win for the Tigers in the last game they play.
