Just comparing raw rushing production from Burrow and Ehlinger...
Ehlinger
164 rush for 482 yards, 16 TD
28 sacks for 218 yards
Estimated true rushing: 136 rush, 700 yards, 5.15 ypa, 16 TD
Burrow
128 rush for 399 yards, 7 TD
35 sacks for 190 yards
Estimated true rushing: 93 rush, 589 yards, 6.33 ypa, 7 TD
I will say they use Ehlinger in a lot more short yardage situations than we use Burrow, but cant really say 1 is definitely better than the other looking at the stats in rushing.

To those of you downvoting my friend has a picture with Sam. They were both in tennis shoes standing straight up. He is 6’1” and they were basically the same height. Maybe Sam has grown since then but believe what you want.

Nice work.
I think Ehlinger's running game is an area where we'll miss Devin White's combination of experience, leadership and speed. His ability to read a play and close in laterally was a huge asset.
Sam isn't a big play runner but they'll use him to pound out short yardage and pick up 5-10 yards.

I mean all rosters are overstated for most part. I hope nobody believes Burrow is close to a true 6'4, he's maybe about 6'2 give or take a half inch.

My point was Burrow, at least in my opinion, is noticeably bigger than Sam. That’s all I really meant.

I know that I'm a ranter because the only thing that I took away from that was the fact that someone somewhere named their kid Lil'Jordan.

This game will be an absolute war and the point spread (likely Texas [-1.5]) will reflect that. I'm glad so many of you will cash in given your confidence that LSU will dominate.

LSU is favored last I checked.

LSU opened as a 7 point favorite

Hard to compare. No doubt that Ehlinger is a stud but he didn’t exactly play the same caliber of defenses that Burrow did last year.

First off. Thank you so much.
LSU wins because they are the deeper more experienced team especially in the trenches. That's why I'm hoping for record heat come kickoff.
Oline brings back four starters plus another three with starting experience.
Dline is the deepest it's been in a while. Should be a solid two deep across the front. LBs, four Butkus finalist. nuff said. Backups all played last year, two of which started multiple games.
Just think LSU's "O" will have more success against texas "D" than visa versa.
TIGERS by two scores.

Bloodbath incoming. Tigers make a rare statement. Think Oregon 2011.
Tigers 41
Texas 13
Tigers 41
Texas 13

Really good take !
I agree on most everything. It really is a big game and sets the tone for the season for both teams.
We’re going to win it.

Ellinger was injured for roughly 5 games and wasn't able to run like he normally does.

I read enough...., 27-24 either way.........

If Les was still here, I think we lose this one.
Yeah, Les lost all the time against teams which were weaker on the lines than us.

Very good analysis. Thanks

Gerald Wilbon has done basically nothing in his 3 prior with only 19 tackles combined.

They, for some reason, have confidence in Wilbon saying he pushed around Georgia a lot, but he only recorded 1 tackle in the game.
Nose tackles aren't stat padders. Look at Haloti Ngata's stats (future HOFer).
Loved your analysis. Thanks for compiling all of this information. I will enjoy watching LSU exploit these matchups. I think we steamroll them. 41-13.
