He's the LSU President, not the state superintendent. How do points 2 and 3 relate at all to a university system?
(2) epidemiological models and geospatial applications with a focus on adolescent and child development and health outcomes;
(3) social development of youth in the context of metropolitan communities;
LSU has the Office of Research and Economic Development for this exact purpose. The university will seek out funding opportunities in key areas of need for the state. This can also foster public/private partnerships and go beyond just contributing to academic research by implementing initiatives based on findings.

While no doubt inadvertent, this is quite possibly the most perfect statement to describe how pathetic much of US society has become. Never before in the course of human history has so much information been so readily available to so many. Yet perhaps never before have we had so many who are so unbelievably lazy that they don’t even want to exert a modicum of effort to discover it. Instead, they just want to be told what to think.

Examining different learning methods and capabilities of different cultural backgrounds is fine and certainly relevant in teaching.
Boiling it down to “whites” and African American, as if we are in one monoculture is not that though. CRT quite literally argues that since math was created by whites, then it inherently benefits whites at the expense of blacks.
Don’t be disingenuous.

I really don't.
In reality, part of my job has me working with minoritized youth and getting them interested in STEM education. So I've been reading all sorts of literature to write a report, and much of it I find insulting. So, on one hand I see some things that I think are net positive in Tate's background. However, I do understand why people are so worried about his various writings on CRT.

Well of course, but I didn't gather that from the exert that was posted.
I agree that CRT, based on what I have been reading, is a very flawed ideology. I do believe that all humans are wired to form assumptions or prejudices, but there is nothing inherently wrong with that. CRT just says those prejudices are because you are racist.

Our piece of shite governor is behind this.

Did this guy use himself as a source in one of his own articles?

That's standard practice to cite your previous research on a topic.

I seriously doubt Tate is going full CRT at LSU. The pushback for that level of change would be tremendous. He might be great. He might be gone in 5 years, I don’t know.
But I don’t blame people for having concerns based on his background. It doesn’t bode well for his thought processes.
It does seem that most of his CRT literature was back in the 90s, so maybe he has backed off of that to some degree.

It's not flawed - it's IGNORANT RACIST F*CKING GARBAGE that has no place in academic scholarship.
And this sort of propagandized brainwashing certainly has NO F*CKING PLACE in the classroom.

The more people like you post, the easier it is to understand why LSU is last in the SEC and the state is teetering on the brink of third world.

Actually, academic scholarship is about broadening your mind and being open to new ideas. Even though in practice it doesn't always work out that way. Support academics that seek to tear apart CRT if you're so passionate about it.
The majority of this board had never heard of CRT 6 months ago.

Tate was good enough for Provost at S. Carolina.

Yes. There is nothing wrong with discussing, theorizing, and/or studying CRT.
Making policy based on these theories on the other hand, that is something that anyone should consider problematic.

CRT is a direct threat to white power.
This is a predominantly white board. There is no give & take when it comes to these people & race.

Yes, you mentioned this in your earlier post to me. I didn’t respond then because it’s irrelevant and ridiculous.

Objectively speaking CRT challenges the First Anendment and indirectly calls for it to be reformed.
So yea.....
