They play at zephyr because both sides whine about where to play it

God forbid we try to progress as a program.
USC is a national program of prominence. But, y'all think you need a name change from USL to progress. UCLA proudly embraces their city, yet y'all think you must disrespect Lafayette to progress. It's the quality of the program, not the name change that will progress your programs.
ULL is like the little brother that wants to wear his older brother's clothes, drive his car, and sleep with his girlfriend. Big brother still loves him, but little brother should not be surprised when he gets punched in the mouth occasionally.
Don't expect LSU's help in making your dream of equality come true!

"Both sides whine about it"? Speaking not from a biased perspective but from a realistic one, LSU is on "top", ULLLL is the one fighting its way up the ladder, so why would LSU ever whine about anything with regards to ULLL baseball? From a biased perspective, LSU's program's success is built while playing in the SEC, the nation's top baseball conference..check out this year's top 10, last year's, the season before...and ULLL's is built while playing in whatever its conference is.

LSU is even doing them a favor by playing at Zephyr in the classic. ULL is the one complaining because for some reason they think they are above being the rotation just like every other little bro school in Louisiana.

The classic is in New Orleans because of Wally. It's at Zephyr because it's the best venue in the area. It's always there. Proceeds go to the foundation. Has nothing to do with teams bickering or anything.
What I do find funny is that ULL fans beg for a 3 game series when their coach doesn't even want it.

you obviously know nothing
alabama, rice, south carolina, ole miss, florida, miss. st, stony brook, michigan have all been to play in Lafayette.
what makes you think they haven't earned a home and home series with anybody in the country. you expect them to just be pushed around and dictated to. thats hilarious. that team is one of the best teams in america, and will be again this year. i love both schools, and i know enough to know that these are both premier programs

If you dont understand the difference btwn those you listed and the flagship in-state "rival" then I think it is you who knows nothing.

Again, yes they are currently good. But top tier program? Their 2008-2012 record of 149-138 would disagree.

Think what a 3 game series would do for both teams' RPI
LSU doesn't need ULL
ULL needs LSU

They really do need to play a 3 game series against ULL or possibly a home and home like you do with Tulane. ULL RPI would be so much better than another SWAC opponent or some no name team.

well that's because this place gives people a chance to talk out of their arse without knowing shite.. happens way too much around here and people just run with it

We don't need RPI help and we dont play 3 game series against SWAC schools. ULL is the one who needs the RPI help.

quote:Neither school wants a home and home series. LSU would rather 2 midweek games vs the good in state schools because we are already so limited there. We play southern, grambling, nicholls, etc. because we aren't driving distance to many decent schools. And in the "winter", when we have these open weekends, it pays to get those northern schools to come down here. ULL does the same... and wants the same. So again, it's hilarious that their fans freak out over this when it's not even in their best interest.

But in reality, what is truly amusing is some guy on the internet spouting off on something he probably knows nothing about.
Case in point: Robe was on the radio yesterday saying that 1) lsu will be at the tigue in 2018, and 2) both sides are working to schedule more games for in the future, the goal being an annual 3-game series.
So, not sure how you were able to get inside Robe's brain and determine that he really doesn't want that to happen.

quote:1) I said nothing about that. Won't be our first game there. 2) Again, I've said it's in each teams interest to play each other during the week more rather than the other crap in state schools. 3) He knows that's what the fans want to hear. Nothing is in the works. Call me when it is.

This isn't about what's in Robe's brain. I don't pretend to guess. But it's obvious that a 3 game series is less beneficial to the programs (money) than bringing down northern schools, especially if LSU is going to Houston every other year, which they better keep doing!

I would love a three game season series. Mid week home and home and then the Pontiff classic would be great.
Zero reason for either team to waste a weekend on a team an hour away when you're going to get the crowds on the weekend either way. So beef up the mid week.
I'm generally against weekend series against teams within driving distance.
