Negotiating what?

A lower lump sum which his emails indicated he was willing to consider and negotiate.

It seems his idea of upfront smaller lump sum is going from 54 million over 6 years to 48 lump.

You think he's willing to tarnish his own reputation just to get back at LSU? Get real.

Come on man, just let it play out!
Signed, dumbasses on the rant

This shite has played out in the only place it matters…the court of public opinion.

LSU had a tremendous amount of goodwill immediately after firing Kelly (best job in the country type talk)….and then Landry and the Board absolutley pissed it away.

Get ready for Frank to be your next coach, or a young, unproven guy.

Rick Neuheisel and his partner are fairly roasting us. We are such an embarrassment

IF (very big if) LSU can get out of paying Brian Kelly $54 million dollars then F**k the media. Actually f**k the media anyways.

Somehow LSU turned Brian Kelly into the victim here, and for the last 3-4 years everybody told you what a d bag BK was. Now he looks like the good guy.

Welcome to 2025 and social media

Somebody will do something stupid in the next week (hopefully Bama ) and take the spotlight off of us

What about the BOS that agreed and allowed the contract and hiring???

How are people so easily overlooking this. Why do LSau fans continue to act like Scott drafted a contract and went up to ND and had Kelly sign it with no vote of the BOS at LSU???

The problems at this university are large and ingrained deep, Saban hid them well, Miles did for a while but the further away from the we get the more the old good Ole boys network's grip tightens and becomes more public.

Buckle up boys its gonna get rough

BK was open to negotiations b/c it would have benefited him to do so. He even said it in his email to Woodward. Landry fired Woodward, and LSU started threatening Kelly that they wouldn't pay him anything if he didn't accept the offer. But sure... let's blame Scott Woodward for the shite show and bad decisions made in his absence.

We will end up with someone who has little to no head-coaching experience, and everyone will rejoice saying that it's what we wanted from the beginning. Kelvin Sheppard will be the winner in all of this. By the time this is done, he'll be the only one willing to take the job.

I disagree. There has been non stop accusations and seemingly coordinated posts against Kelly and he has remained quiet. Same thing is happening to Nuss across social media, very coordinated and with the same talking points.

Now he’s a powerless peon for the board

It’s shocking how many people on this board can’t see how this is going to negatively affect LSU football moving forward.
How is firing a terrible coach going to negatively effect LSU football? Will other programs such as Penn State, Florida, Arkansas, Auburn, and countless others who fired their terrible coaches also have the same negative results as you claim LSU will?

100%. LSU has somehow figured out a way to wrestle the black hat our of Brian Kelly's grips and proudly display it atop their head. It's both sad and remarkable how inept this administration and LSU leadership is, but it's unfortunately not surprising.

Bc the leadership thinks exactly how 97% of TD posters think.., We’re LSU….We’re the best program in college… Fk em, we’re LSU…any coach would crawl to come here.

For 3 days, after firing Kelly, the entire sports world bashed Kelly and supported LSU…it was remarkable! Then Landry took to the podium.. it’s been stepping on your own dick everyday since. Should be a documentary years from now.

Y’all don’t want to hear this, but we’re in Auburn land now.

How and when Landry went after Woodward has screwed this up royally. Maybe it will fix itself but it doesn’t seem likely, at least not enough to make this all worth it. I think a struggle is coming in the coaching hire and the football team.

In a vacuum, it won’t affect the program going forward if handled properly

That will be determined based on who they all hire, but none of those schools have their state governor and athletic departments on the front page news almost every day in a public squabble over buy outs, morality clauses, and politics. We just can’t seem to get out of our own way.

Because it's not just "one guy". He's saying the exact sentiment being felt all around the country about LSU. What do you think the agents are telling their client coaches about the LSU job. Do you think Jimmy Sexton is begging all of his guys to take the LSU job?

We have to hire a good coach now. Where are you going to find one willing to come to this dumpster fire?

If we had something on BK

LSU doesn't have anything on BK.

He was fired the morning after an embarrassing home loss that was the 3rd loss in 4 games. The official statement from LSU announcing his firing quoted Woodward in saying....

quote:

“When Coach Kelly arrived at LSU four years ago, we had high hopes that he would lead us to multiple SEC and national championships during his time in Baton Rouge,” Woodward said. “Ultimately, the success at the level that LSU demands simply did not materialize, and I made the decision to make a change after last night’s game. I am grateful for the ongoing consultations and support of the LSU Board of Supervisors and Interim President Matt Lee in this decision. We wish Coach Kelly and his family the very best in their future endeavors. We will continue to negotiate his separation and will work toward a path that is better for both parties"

Everything LSU has publicly said points to the firing being related to on-field performance....or lack thereof.

If LSU tries to claim he was fired for cause now, BK's attorneys are going to have a field day in court with the public statements from Woodward, LSU, and Jeff Landry that all made it sound like a performance related firing.
