With that said, johnny jones has done a remarkable job his first year and a half.

Remarkable? You and I must have different definitions of "remarkable." I think we overachieved a bit last year, but that was in large part due to the league's overall futility. He's proved already that he is a GREAT recruiter, but our guys look lost on the floor this year with much more talent and experience.

The offense has no flow and fails to utilize our strength (post play) for long periods of time. Defensively we have very little cohesiveness. Our guys can't make FTs, although that's more on the players than a lack of attention to FT shooting. I have to imagine a decent portion of practice is dedicated to that, but you wouldn't know from the results. Jones sits guys too long for crucial moments and uses the Phil Jackson "I'm not calling a timeout; I'm letting them figure it out" mentality it seems when we're losing momentum.

Great point. Throwing money at the problem won't necessarily solve anything.

So you think that JJ isn't good enough as the record o win and losses isn't up to your personal expectations. He is in his second year on the damned job and got here with a cupboard empty of good players after Brady. Why would you think that an overnight success to be be a likelihood under those circumstances?

This is a lie. LSU fans did not show up in 2009 when we won the SEC and attendance was ok during the 2006 Final Four year.

I wasn't there, but I've been told that seats were hard to come by during the Brown era. Team was winning, fans showed up.

Good coaching + good players + wins = a full house!!! I was in school late 70's early 80's and the place was packed every game!!!

LSU needs to make the same commitment to basketball that Florida does. Until that happens LSU BB won't be relevant. LSU has a long way to go to even have the same type of commitment Iowa State has.

LSU made the NCAA tournament for ten years in a row from the mid 80s to mid 90s but the commitment lagged behind. There's enough talent in LA, MS, TX, and the Delta and Gulf Coast to win it all.

But let's face it. Now if you're a top ten recruit from Louisiana and you have places like Duke, Kansas, Kentucky, UNC, Florida, Indiana, and Michigan State after you are you going to go to LSU over those schools?

Realistically, it is extremely difficult for a university to be consistently successful in the big three sports.

There are only a handful of schools that can do it, and to be honest, LSU as a university is no where near those schools.

Support will not come until the wins materialize.

Occams Razor here. The simplest explanation is usually the correct one. Few wins = few people in the seats. Keep getting blown out while displaying inept coaching/game management and the place will be like a tomb. LSU fans know good coaching when they see it and they aint seein it.

Expect the PMAC to become more and more like a Tulane football game in the Dome until the wins come, as LSU fans have had about enough of bad basketball and have little patience left.

Doesn't take long to turn a college basketball program around if the coaching and athletes are in place.

It's Johnny's fault our only decent shooter is unbelievably streaky and our center can't pass out of a double team to save his life and our upperclassmen play with zero intensity and our upperclassmen refuse to work on free throws?

He's recruiting his arse off and doing the best he can with the guys we currently have. It's hard to be all that succesful when you not only have zero outside shooting, but your low-post man decided to basically give up. Teams have and will continue to zone us to death.

List the schools that are consistently successful in the big three sports?

Florida, Texas, maybe USC come to mind. All of those schools have infinitely more resources than LSU has.

Billy Donovan was 5-11 and 6-10 in conference games his first two seasons at Florida. Jones was 9-9 his first season. Do you think Billy Donovan was this huge big time coach when Florida hired him and do you think they paid him an over the top salary right from the first? If you don't know the past, how can you possibly make an intelligent statement in the present?

Stanford, with its academic standards wins the sears cup or what ever it's called (director's cup)just about every year. The big 3 sports aren't lights out, but they are solid. It's all the other sports that usually help them win the award, but Stanford Football, Basketball and Baseball aren't too bad year to year.
