I don't get this...how would it work?

I believe the realignment should have Ala. and A'burn shift into the east and Missou and aTm join in the west. That way Ala v Tenn and AU v Ga. is preserved, all teams rotate out against the other division and the SEC has a truer geographical setup. I also believe that it would be a big slight advantage to LSU F-Ball, but, thats the way the mop flops.

That would make the West look like the Big 12 East. No thank you.

I'm in favor of getting rid of perennial cross-division rivalries. But if we keep them, I would HATE for us to trade Florida for anyone else.

FLORIDA OR NOBODY as cross-division rival!

The same way it works now, only with 7 teams rotating through 2 spots instead of 5 teams rotating through 2 spots. You'd play each team from the other division twice every 7 years.

Florida has been dominating in the recent past.

What do you mean? Certainly not dominating LSU on the field. The series is tied 6-6 from 2000 through today. Each has won two national championships. They have won 3 SEC titles, we have won 4. They have won 4 division titles, we have won 5.

I love the Florida game. It's absolutely one of my favorites every year.

However, in the long run, Florida is a top notch SEC program that we face yearly and our division rivals don't. It's better for our chances at getting to the SEC champ game.

It has only cost LSU the SEC West title twice, in 1996 and 2006. More often, it has cost Florida the SEC East title.

really I just want to face more than just Florida and one other team from the other division. It would kinda suck(IMO) to play only one team from the other side each year.

To only get a chance once every twelve years to go to some of the other stadiums over there doesn't sound exciting to me.

I agree with this, but Alabama, Tennessee, Auburn and Georgia are going to get their way, which means perennial cross-divisional games will continue. If they do, then who would we want other than Florida?

worst road trip outside of Starkville.

Are you kidding?

The Swamp has the best stadium atmosphere in the SEC, other than Tiger Stadium. The campus is crawling with tailgaters and there are bars all along the street across from the stadium. Gainesville is a great road trip. I've been there six times and would love to go again.

Let's not forget that we got shafted into this annual game in 1992.

No, we didn't. We were playing Florida annually ever since 1971, and only missed about two years since the '50s. We asked to keep both Florida and Kentucky as perennial opponents after expansion in 1992, when we did a 5-2-1 format, rotating four opponents through one spot while playing two perennial cross-divisional games. In 2002, when we switched to a 5-1-2, we dropped Kentucky and kept Florida, again at our request, and Florida's. They gave up Auburn.

Of course they won't.

As I have many Fla. friends I have mixed emotions. I always looked forward to this game as it has been a great game since Spurrier left. But it doesn't matter who we play, Lsu has a very good football program & I don't see it changing any time soon!

For old times sake...One of the more underrated rivalries in college football.

Gold jerseys...

I guess it's fitting to end it with this....

Whether or not this is advantageous for LSU entirely depends upon which school would replace Florida as the Tigers' permanent east opponent.

Who give a shite about the SEC champ game? It doesn't matter what matter is how you blow people out in games that it. SECCG is optional at best it's the BCS that is worth something.

In 1991 SEC Meetings pondering the ramifications of USC and Arkansas entering the Conference, Joe Dean did not want this annual series dumped on us but was powerless to do anything about it.

After SEC Expansion we subsequently got our arse whipped 10 out of 12 meetings by them.

I anticipate that Alabama and Aubie will be moved to the SEC east once the dust settles.
Missouri needs to be in the SEC west.

bama can enjoy beating up on UTk on the reg.

Florida and the Tigers have been a great rivalry for a long time--it would be a shame to discontinue it. If the powers that be want it changed, i would prefer no cross-rival. Maybe Joe Aleva wants to schedule Duke or TOWSON STATE every year instead.

Last year was a fluke, if you don't win the SEC you have virtually no shot at the BCS CG. If the current playoff being discussed become reality, you will have to win the SEC CG to play for the BCS CG.

Since when did Duke and Towson State join the SEC?
Why is it that so many can't make an argument with out resorting to exaggeration and idiocy? We will play Florida again, just not every year and we won;t replace them with only Vandy. In leui of playing Fla every year, we will play UGA, Tenn, and USCe along with UK and Vandy more often.
