Isn't that what I said?

Let me repeat myself... "I was born in 1984 and I've always known LSU for its baseball."

And if you are referring to me thinking everyone thinks like me, don't be dumb... I know most people think differently and immediately say LSU is a football program. I was just giving my opinion.

Sorry if I misunderstood what you were trying to say.

Like I said, it's just my opinion. My family is huge LSU baseball fans, and LSU baseball was the numero uno sport in my family. I know 90% of other LSU fans were just waiting for football to come back around. I didn't get into LSU sports until the early 90s, hence why baseball just comes to mind.

As for me though, LSU football makes or breaks my weekends and weeks. I grew up mainly a baseball fan, but since 2000 I have switched over to Football... which is why its easy for me to say its a situational timing thing maybe... I don't know... you win, I gotta jet.

No worries man, trust when I say I am the first to say that I make myself sound retarded more times than I make sense. I'm terrible at explaining the way I think... which is why I only have like 350 posts, it's better for me to just keep my fingers shut.

Either way, I'm a fan of every LSU sport... from swimming to gymnastics to football... I watch it all.

Tiger Wilson hit the nail on the head, LSU is known for many of its sports. I remember being a sophomore at LSU during '69/'70. Football was great. We only had one loss that season. We lost to Ole Miss and Archie in Jackson. However, when basketball season started, they had lines over a mile long lined up to get into the Ag Center to watch The Pistol play. On the day we played Kentucky on national TV in the AG Center, your butt had better be in line by 5 a.m. What I'm trying to say is that during my college career at LSU we supported all sports. Wrestling and swimming were real big too.

Football 3 NCs, + 3 others from other polls
Basketball 1 NC, + 4 Final Fours, 2 Elite Eights
Baseball 5 NCs, + 8 other CWS appearances
Track 5+ NCs

Who can beat that?, Plus....

Women's Track and Field - 20+ NCs
Womens's Softball - 2 CWS
Women's Basketball - 5 consecutive Final Fours

I think it has to do with your age (generation) partly, as well as what sports you follow. I've always been a football fan #1. If basketball and/or baseball have great seasons, I'll follow them, but football has always been #1 for me.

Because I live 1000 miles from BR now, it's kind of interesting to see how different people see LSU. Around 1991, I was at a party here in Denver, and when this guy found out I was an LSU alum, he said " LSU--Yeah, Shaq!!!"

In 1991, LSU football was horrible, but people outside the LSU fan base recognized LSU for its basketball program rather than a longer history of football success.

Today, after 2 national championships in football in recent memory, people here know LSU as a football school (especially since CU,the local school is so bad in football!)
