I cannot over state how much I appreciate you unveiling/including that cool little piece of personal info in your post.

Still pissed Beloso is DHing over minimum 3 players that would hit for a much higher average.

Not my only problem but I stand in conviction that he is a major weak link that is unreliable and inconsistent at best and that there are better options for DH. I honestly wish someone could find the data and show how many runners he has left stranded this year in comparison to every other DH in the country.

Ell, someone said our RPI actually got better after this game. Didn’t you say it would go down given our remaining competition?

RPI up to 20

Auburn is bad but they're 63 in RPI so it would be good road wins

I said it may go down and would remain in the low 20s at best. I stand by that.

ETA my exact quote:

quote:

1) We know that's not enough and 2) It may not be there given our opponents records coming up.

ETA: The two teams we play away (A&M and Auburn) are a combined 44-43. Even with wins, the RPI won't improve and may actually drop.

ETA2: Our RPI jump had as much to do with Kentucky’s win over Florida as it did our own win. They jumped 7 spots with that win.

Auburn 62
Bama 28
A&m 78

None of those are gonna drop us alot IMO, especially if one is a sweep

Yea, Josh is right, it’s highly unlikely our RPI will drop much if we get 3 series wins over the next three weeks.

My reasoning comes from our SOS being maxed out. It can only go down and it will. No one has more top 25 RPI games (or losses for that matter) and we only have one more chance for that to increase (as of now) from 19 to 20 games. We won’t end up with the most. For example, Ark goes to Tenn next week. Wins vs the 62 and 78 RPI teams don’t get you much and the 28 team you play is at home which is worth less. I’m not saying we will fall to 30 or 40 or anything close to that. Just that there’s few chances left to improved. Kentucky’s win over UF improved our opponent record and opponent’s opponent record. That’s where the +2 came from.

Id agree if we were rpi 40, but at 20, our goal is to not drop like a rock

If we were at 40 we would have room for improvement.

We go 7-2, our rpi is unlikely to fall below 25 IMO

I agree. The point of my original post was that we already know a low 20s RPI isn’t enough. We’ve been in that position twice before and missed the tournament.
