Problem is he is changing the zone to bail them out on 3-0 and 3-1 counts. Big zone is one thing, but this frick is directly deciding that anything caught by their catcher is a strike instead of ball 4.

The ump is expanding his strike zone dependent upon the count. He's influenced by the situation which is the least desirable characteristic you could have in an umpire
