The way he’s been seeing it that has to be chalked up to just a great pitch. Despite his eyes being in LF as he missed it.

It’s a good question. Umps are supposed to use discretion to determine where the baserunners would have been if the call was made correctly.
The question is.. did the runners return to 1st/2nd because of a bad call or because they thought Pearson caught it?
