Milam's batting isn't as bad as it looks. He's hitting only .210 in SEC before today, but he's tied for the team lead in SEC home runs and 4th in RBI. His K rate is the best on the team. So he's putting the ball in play and hitting for power.

Hes been falling behind and taking bad swings all season. Hopefully he gets hot quickly.

101 followed by 88 is a deadly combo. I love a good juiced gun

Noot channeling his inner Riley "robbed of MOP" Cooper, and is assuming lawn mower status.

Amazing things can happen if you throw strikes. Who would have ever thought?

His first AB was great but it’s easy to tell he’s pressing.

He’s done a good job drawing walks and making the occasional big hit late in games, but we all know he struggling compared to what we’ve seen from him in the past.

Casual as frick, just as he puts another grounder away.
Lol I already lauded his defense profusely in this thread and said his play earlier was worth a few runs at the plate. His defense is elite. He struggles at the plate.

It’s fricking insane how casual so much of this fanbase is.

Going to go into all the off-season threads telling people Noot is the Friday guy next year because he pairs his 101 MPH fast ball with an 88 MPH curve and 87 MPH splitter.

Move him back to second if there’s an elite shortstop out there.

This makes no sense. Milam is elite defense. That is one of the positions you should be willing to sacrifice some offense. And I'll post this again from earlier in the thread...

quote:

Milam's batting isn't as bad as it looks. He's hitting only .210 in SEC before today, but he's tied for the team lead in SEC home runs and 4th in RBI. His K rate is the best on the team. So he's putting the ball in play and hitting for power. Those balls will find holes.

By contrast, people love Pearson in the lineup. His BA is only .048 points higher than Milam while being dead last on the team in SEC RBI and first in errors in the outfield.

*currently. Let’s not act like last season and the first half of this one didn’t exist.

I got a feeling if we can string a couple of hits together we’re gonna explode eventually. But I’d be thinking hard about bunting runners over to stay outta that stupid double play.
