LSU's spring game attendance paled in comparison to some of the other SEC schools. Is this an indicator of the level of excitement a fan base has for their program?

I can't help but think that with some proper marketing and fun events etc, this could really become a great family outing for folks in Baton Rouge and drive attendance. Thoughts?

I think it shows that we have other things to do than show up to a practice. It's fun sometimes, but people are busy sometimes.

I think it is an indicator that there is more to do in Louisiana on a spring Saturday than go watch a glorified practice. LSU has never had great attendance to a spring game no matter the previous season.

I honestly do not see the point of worrying about spring game attendance. Let Alabama and Ohio State duke it out. We (usually) are more focused on baseball this time of year.

Change the head coach. It's stale. You know it. The sunshine pumpers know it. The negatigers howl it. The realists even know it.

It happens everywhere. It's happened here and it didn't just start.

Downvotes galore are headed my way. I get it and that's okay. But trust me...You want renewed fan interest, you change the head coach. Dude has zero fricks given towards longtime booster groups that were supporting the program when we weren't winning sh!t and could only dream of where we are now.

He may not have forgotten where he came from, but he's certainly forgotten where a lot of the fanbase and boosters that built this program into what it was before he got here came from.

Again, downvote away. Change the head coach. Interest will stop ebbing and begin to flow.

It's a spring game. Literally nothing needs to be done. You should be proud that people are finding something else to do with their time.

I've been to two spring games. Both times it's because I was in school and wanted to get out of the lab for a study break.

I'm not giving up a Saturday to go watch a meaningless, pointless, practice.

How about they actually play football. I was impressed with nothing from the game. No versatile play calling. Is not exciting to each during he year, much less in the spring.

If we were wining, attendance would be up. Until then, it will continue to decline.

People go to spring games when there are new coaches, new offences, or new qbs. We have none of those. Not a bad thing as long as the real games have ppl.

I upvoted you. We all know we are going to get vanilla playcalling with the same toss lead scheme. Why bother sitting in the stands and sweating to watch the expected?

Not only that, but I protest by staying at home at watching fall games on ESPN or just watching on the tv at the tailgate.

To clarify for the people who don't realize I'm a sunshine pumper, I typically am.

People make excuses like oh there's so much to do in Louisiana but we can all tell from the rant that people are starved for football. It's just the convenient excuse.
