Lefties get that 45 degree gray area on pickoffs

That wasn't close. That was a blatant balk.

But, Braun didn't seem to be fooled by that...he just didn't seem to consider that the pitcher might throw over.

Every week, we get into a situation that simple baseball discipline avoids
Simple baseball umpiring also would have had the runner on second base.

It was, without a doubt, a balk. That's not on Braun at all.

The rule book says nothing about 45 degrees.

Lol, i didnt say it was in the rulebook. But most ump crews let them get away with that shite, it was def closer to 90 than 0, i agree, but that gray area is rarely called a balk

LSU just seems to do all the little things that cost ball games.

Like what?

Like getting picked off of 3B in the first inning to end a rally?
Like dropping called strikes and deflecting back to the pitcher's mound so a runner from 3B can score?
Like not geting bunts down and strking out with runners on 3B and 1 out?
Like not taking 2B on a for sure double and then getting picked off of 1B before the next pitch?

Balk or not he was way too far off the bag with a lefty pitching

He was off that far because he hopped toward second, expecting the pitch to go home because it was a balk.

This has to be the worst coached LSU team in decades. Even Smoke & Pulmonary couldn’t screw this team up this bad. Do we employ sports psychologists? Entire team of head cases with no confidence.

Or behind the plate. They scored on a dropped strike.
