I'm not saying his initial slide wasn't off of the bag. i am saying he still wound up around the middle of the bag. meaning where his foot touched.
from my understanding that isn't against the rules? he didn't go directly at the fielder nor did he make any contact. just seems like a ridiculous call to make there.
