It almost has to be that way, given November's brutality
They need to get through October clean.

Just enjoy the ride and be happy that we have a coach that actually coaches and a team that is competitive unlike the last 2 years.

don't see how anyone can be so dumb they took my comment to have anything with how the team thinks. but apparently you are. my point was the season flies by so enjoy the next game...not to mention we have 3 fricking sec games between us and bama.
You're right, I should have replied to the specific person acting that was, your post was at the end and I replied to that. Your pussy certainly didn't indicate that

LSU has played Alabama in football on 90 occasions since 1895, losing about 2 out of every 3 contests. It is interesting to note that LSU won the first 2 games, yet haven't had a lead in the series since the end of the 4th game.
Going back to the roughly mid-point of both Mac and Bear Bryant eras, respectively, for LSU and Alabama saw, the starting point for particularly ugly streak on our side of the equation:
Through the 1970 contest (in Birmingham), LSU had won 10 games (back-to-back 1969 in Tiger Stadium, 1970 in Birmingham), Bama 20 and there had been 4 ties. Bama's record was bolstered by a 5-game winning streak through 1968 leading up to this "high water mark" of the McClendon era (1969 is generally considered his best defense and probably best overall team).
After the 1969 game, Bama would go on an impressive 14-0-1 "not losing" streak in Tiger Stadium, unbroken until 2000 (the Angry Little Man from West Virginia's first season at LSU). Beginning 1971 game and through 2000, LSU was 7-22-1 against Bama, with only 1 win in Tiger Stadium. It is a strange series over that time as, particularly beginning in 1980 or thereabouts, home field advantage is flipped, particularly so for Bama in Tiger stadium. Of LSU's 19 wins against Bama since 1969, only 6 have been in Tiger Stadium. Only Miles and Saban have more than 1 win in Baton Rouge against Bama.
Arns, certainly the best LSU coach between Mac and Saban was 1-1-1 against Bama (winning in Birmingham, losing 1, tying 1 in TS). Each of "loser" coaches Archer, Clowny Hallman and Dinardo won a single game against Bama (all in Tuscaloosa).
LSU's longest win streak during the period is 5, 2003 - 2007 (Saban 2, then Miles 3). No other win "streak" by LSU against Bama in football history has exceeded 2 games. Bama has had win streaks of 11 games, 8 games, 5 games and a smattering of 3s and 4s over that 90-game span.
TLDR: I want to consistently beat Bama before I "feel" anything positive about an upcoming match with the Tide.

My worry is injuries. If we keep dropping key personnel, we won’t have the depth to keep up in some of these games.
