It possibly hit his outermost finger. Maybe. Most likely stung the shite out of his hand hitting the bat all awkward like that. The only thing that I think could keep him at the plate would be if the rule states if it hits the batter while swinging it's a dead ball strike. I honestly don't know that rule, so can't say.
