Only a great Coach can recruit like Les has with all the decruiters on these boards working against him ! Les will retire when he is sick of the stupidity probably after his his N championship !

Miles would have to implode back to back to be fired

Like I said Miles could become a victim of his own success. At LSU 8-5 "4-4 in SEC" with a bowl loss to a team WE SHOULD HAVE BEAT is imploding and if he has a similar season this year that is back to back implosions. The bar has been raised at LSU and everyone should be happy about that, but back to back 8-5 seasons and 4-4 in SEC play will start the wheels rolling extremely fast downhill for Miles.

What is truly pathetic is all of these dickless clowns posting about "warm/hot seats" and ultimatums actually think that they know something about football and what it takes to run a college program. They are complete zeros. Fools. Idiots. Just once I wish they would come out from behind their keyboards and say some of that shite to Coach Miles, face to face. I would truly pay big money to watch them get laughed out of existance or better yet watch them get bitchslapped from Tiger Stadium to the Box.

You truly have no clue what you are talking about. I will try and educate you but something tells me you don't have the common sense to understand it.

One thing I can promise you is that I know big business "extremely well" I retired at age 42 and that was a few years ago. It is real simple, college football is no longer a business "especially in the SEC" that you can sit around and hope that results will appear down the road. For better or worse, what ever your opinion is regarding that, you have to perform and if you don't your gone. The windows for allowing coaches to perform have gotten much smaller because the business has gotten much bigger. When the top guy holds up the company for a raise that puts them in the top 5% of all individuals in that business you had better believe that performance has to be on par with the pay. An 8-5 record and 4-4 in the SEC is not performance on par with Miles pay. Because the type of guy he is and because of his past performance anomalies will be overlooked but 6-2, 5-3 & 4-4 in the SEC over the past 3 years will get the higher ups starting to really look at what is going on. If he shits the bed again this year like last year, I can promise you "has nothing to do with being in the football industry" big business will not tolerate it because Miles will be getting paid way too much for the performance he has had as of late. Big business will dictate going forward that he needs to be successful immediately and if he doesn't he will be gone, whether retiring like Mack Brown or fired like Will Muschamp but 2 more years of 8-5 and 4-4 in the SEC and I will bet anyone anything they want that he will not be the coach of LSU in 2017 if he has back to back to back years of 4-4 in the SEC.

It will have nothing to do with football it will have everything to do with performance not on par with the pay!

Not disagreeing, but where do Kevin Sumlin, Dan Mullen, Hugh Freeze, and Bret Bielema factor into this?

I think it's not a stretch to say that in this business, whomever succeeds Miles will start with the salary he's currently making.

Miles will retire in a few years after he gets the all-time LSU win record

Agreed. You don't fire the winningest SEC coach of the past decade just for a couple of sub-par seasons. A losing season and it's Katy barred the door, however I don't see that coming at all. I still say 10-3 with a bowl victory.

I'd be willing to bet a significant amount of money that Miles isn't fired with a 9 win season this year.

Some people are unclear on the concept.

Do you know the difference between "warm" and "hot"?

Ill say his seat is tepid. Les needs to be not so hard headed

Have cam take full control of the offense and develop harris then 8 wins no problem. If les backs off a lot with the play calling we will be a lot better.

I'm not too concerned with Ed and Steele.

I don't know if you can say that, it all depends on who! Kevin Steele didn't inherit Chavis salary. And I am not saying the Miles is gone, personally I hope not I like the man and think he is a great person, good coach and great recruiter and good for LSU. I am just saying the your performance has got to be on par with the pay and last year it was not, that simple.

4-4 when you play in the SECW is not exactly "shits the bed". Hell, I recall Nick going 5-3 and Miles went a 2 yr. period of 8-8 without a serious call for his head from the powers that be at LSU.

If Ga, with more wins in their history than LSU, keeps a coach 14 yrs with 2 SEC titles and no NCG appearances, I think Miles is gonna be safe a few more yrs.

Big business

How will college big business feel bout paying off 1 coach millions and at the same time spending millions in an attempt to lure another big business coach to LSU all cause LSU had back to back 8 win seasons after a decade of averaging 10 wins a yr. while playing in the SECW???

Who knows what the future holds, but I think anyone suggesting that Miles will be gone within 2 yrs if he doesn't have a 10 win season, is just practicing some wishful thinking.

I disagree - the SEC West has gotten brutal.

The other thing is that Les continues to bring in top 5 talent. You literally cannot fire a coach who brings in top 5 classes year in and year out.

I'd be fine with that as long as they have more losses than lsu

I don't hope Miles is gone in 2yrs because personally I like Miles and think he is good for LSU, and if Miles is gone in 2yrs that means LSU has not been successful on the field.

That being said, if we go 8-5 "4-4 in SEC" in 2015 and 8-5-ish "4-4ish in SEC" in 2016, I will wager whatever you want that he will not be coaching at LSU in 2017.
