I agree anything less of 10 wins he has to be on the "very hot seat"

I believe I'm pretty well established as one of the biggest sunshine pumpers on this board (as I'm sure you can attest). Anything less than 11 wins this year is unacceptable.
We're LSU.
We have a junior QB with a full year of starting in conference play (pending suspension). We have a sophomore QB with more god-given talent than any QB we've signed since Perrilloux with a full year in our system.
We have an elite OL, a Heisman-caliber RB, a plethora of 5* receivers, also with a full year in our system.
We have a dominant interior defense with Godchaux, Lacouture, and Beckwith, and an elite secondary with TreDavious White, Jamal Adams, and Jalen Mills, who has started every game of his career and turned down the NFL to return to LSU.
If we can get some pressure from our DEs, and getting Arden Key eligible was huge in this regard, adequate play from our two senior OLBs, and find someone to hold down the other side of the field in the secondary among a gold mine of talent... we'll be unbeatable.
We play four scrub teams from OOC, draw two teams from the East who combined to go 14-11 last season, and play State and Aubbie early in the year, when they should still be adjusting to heavy personnel changes.
This program needs some life injected into it... and desperately needs to beat Alabama this year.
11-1 or I'm willing to admit the sun is setting over the western sky on Les Miles.
Sadly, 10 win seasons, while extremely difficult to come by on an annual basis, are no longer the measure of success when your major in-conference "rival" has beaten you 4 in a row and won 3 NCs since your last.

Booger's wrong. Miles' seat is comfortable right now as it should be. If he goes 4-4 or worse in league play this yr then Les will find his seat a bit toasty heading into 2016. But with a starting Harris/Jennings returning in 2016 hopes will be high. If Les cant do better than .500 3 years in a row then it may very well be time to look elsewhere.
Id bet on Miles doing better than .500 in league play every year, but thats just me.
Geaux Tigers and CLM

Booger hit that on point with Les.
Can we get a write up from him on CPM?

Some of you guys are crazy!! LSU is definitely gonna win more than 6 games, and I know that 100%.. Les isn't going anywhere unless he doesn't win more than 8 in 2016.. Then the seat gets a little warmer. Everybody needs a chill pill.
Amen to that Sneak. What is truly pathetic is all of these dickless clowns posting about "warm/hot seats" and ultimatums actually think that they know something about football and what it takes to run a college program. They are complete zeros. Fools. Idiots. Just once I wish they would come out from behind their keyboards and say some of that shite to Coach Miles, face to face. I would truly pay big money to watch them get laughed out of existance or better yet watch them get bitchslapped from Tiger Stadium to the Box.

Only way Les is gone from this program is if we don't have a winning season or he retires.

Wow what insight and thought was put into that post
All of the input on trends, juniors leaving early and the effects on the following season, and the obvious quarterback fiasco is great, but what is obvious is that the coaches HAVE NOT adjusted well to situations requiring change. When they do, they usually overdo it to the point of predictability (jet sweep late in the year last year - everyone could see it coming). Meanwhile, when something DOES work effectively (Fournette fake/catch up the middle for a 40+ yard gain) it is never seen again. Like a lot of Miles' decisions, imo this makes no sense.
What was meant was that there have been way too many opportunities for him to clear things up, and this year will tell the tale. The Tigers are as stacked as they ever will be with talent. I hope like hell CLM can utilize all his weapons to clear things up, even though it will never shut up all the negatigers calling for his head.
That enough thought and insight??

How do you know this? If he has back to back sub par seasons with the level of talent being brought in he will be on fire
Posted on 7/16/15 at 11:55 am to blackjackjackson
I think that with the way they have been recruiting he gets another year regardless of results
Posted on 7/16/15 at 12:08 pm to blackjackjackson
All of this is much to do bout nothing I am thinking. Miles doesn't impress me as a guy who wants to die walking the sidelines. Also, LSU is way too invested in him for them to think bout releasing the guy anytime soon.
I would be highly surprised if Miles is at LSU past
the next 3-5 yrs. With the way he has been able to recruit, QB lack or not, his winning is not gonna drop off bad enough for LSU to force him out

I agree with you Lonnie, he's not going anywhere.
My question though, can anybody in administration, board, or AD present him with an ultimatum to put up some bigger numbers, run a better offense, and recruit and develop a key position like QB consistently, or do we just put up with him and his shenanigans because he gets 10 wins every 2-3 years?
Personally, I don't think anyone at LSU has gone toe to toe with him yet and demanded that he produce, which is one of the reasons why we seem to coast year after year since 2007 (except 1 year 2011). It's Mark Richt syndrome, we see the UGA fans dealing with the same thing here in Atlanta.

National championships in 2003 and 2007, along with another championship appearance in 2011, have drastically altered what LSU fans expect from their program.
To me, this is always the misconception. My expectations went up with the coache's salaries.

Booger is a very famous Alumnist. That means he has the opportunity to speak and intermingle with other very prolific Alumi and donors as well. What he is saying resembles What I was told by the guy who owned the company I used to work for and is a very big donor to the athletic dept. At a company function I and few other people got an opportunity to talk to the guy about Les, it seems that is the first thing he wants to talk about, he likes Les as a man, hates him as a coach.
He said it is a perception among major donors that Mile's Agent took advantage of Alleva when renegotiating his contract. Instead of the escalators and money clauses most other SEC coaches have, Miles chose more years, less money, and a bigger buyout. However, Alleva was either unprepared, not used to dealing with SEC level football contracts, or he was very worried about upsetting the horse that pulls the cart in the football coach. Miles' new deal made his buyout so onerous, that no one wanted to pony up the money to buy him out. I understood that there have been some discussions amongst money people about this.
Move ahead to last year, people are upset with Miles and his record against Saban, any LSU coach would be compared to Saban, so it isn't a particular Miles issue. What is a big issue is that Miles is loyal to a fault, his stubborness, and the idea that he has is getting all he wants in facilities, coaches salaries, etc. and is still not winning how people feel LSU should be. The debacle of last year, especially the loss to State made it very upsetting for some of the money people.
What he said was Alleva was told to do what he could to motivate Les and make it known to him that people are upset and see a downward trend. That is where the contracts and other issues came up. It is also well known that Orgeron was wanted by alot of influential people. They feel he can recruit guys to beat Alabama.
It is my understanding that if this year resembles last year, Miles may not be fired, but there will be some major shake ups. The only reason Miles seat is not warmer is no one wants to write the big check, but from my understanding, it could hapen after this year.

Booger forgot one thing...who was the coach in 2007 and 2011 ? Miles would have to implode back to back to be fired.

Why are you so angry that all we're doing is agreeing with the coach we all support? He said it this morning, "8 wins isn't good enough." I'd be more than happy to say that to his face. Know what his answer would be? "You're right...that's what I said." You call us out for not knowing how to coach football. Okay? Do you? Are any of us claiming that we do? It sure sounds like you're implying you know more than us about running a team, which is laughable BS and you know it. You're a real tough guy calling out people behind their keyboard...from behind your keyboard. You sound like a pathetic, angry, small idiot.

So let me ask you this question. If LSU goes 8-5 this year with another 4-4 in the SEC and losing again in a nothing bowl. What are your thoughts then? If that happens his trend line in the SEC would be for the past 4 years 6-2, 5-3, 4-4, 4-4, and he would still be one of the top 10 highest paid coaches in the Country! At some point just from a business side of things performance has to be on par with the pay. You can get a few mulligans but you have to perform, anyone who thinks otherwise really doesn't understand big business, which is exactly what college football has become whether anyone likes it or not.
No Booger is 1,000% correct Miles seat after last season and the way it ended has officially gotten warm. I want Miles to succeed because if he succeeds that means LSU succeeds. When you get paid what he is getting paid, he has accountability and 4-4 in the SEC isn't cutting it at LSU, not anymore that is for sure. Like I said in an early post Miles could be a victim of his own success. He has had great success and with that came big paydays but now he is held to that standard of success that he achieved which is definitely warranted.
