Love When Peolpe Say If Mett Was Better He Would Have Beat Out JJ/JL

Yeah because the guy on the bench is never as good as the starter........ "What" says Tom Brady and a thousand other people. Every coach in America plays favorites to some degree. There is probably a guy on every college team in America that should be starting but the coach just "likes" the guy in front of him. Mett will be significantly better.

I'm thinking Mett was better but didn't have the total LSU experience and practice reps to have a factor this past year.

Brees would have rode the pine this year. JJ was his boy toy

I agree with this 1,000%. I won't mention a name, but a local sports talk radio host told me a month before it happened that when, not if, JJ was reinstated on the team within a couple of games he would be the starter and JL would not see the field again for any significant snaps and that's exactly what happened.

People confuse more talented with better.
Playing Mettenberger out of the gate last year could have cost us one of the early games even if we would have been better off by the end of the year.
It was a risk the staff didn't want to take. They knew that the team was championship caliber as is.

Lee should have started every game and finished every game except for the first Bama game.
loss still hurts.

Gotta laugh! Frank starts a thread pumping up Mett. Thread immediately sinks to bloody vag level whining.

I would have disagreed on Jan 8th. I whole heartedly agree with you starting on Jan 10th to present.

Mett is probably significantly better off for having last season to play, watch, and learn.
Believe it or not, but most people, I said most, do better with experience than without it.

It's fricking amazing how hurt the JLee fan boys are. Neither JJ nor JL were winning us the game on Jan 9

I know I love it that LSU was blown out. That was great wasn't it?

youre half right. He didnt get the practice reps.
Look, there's no way youre going to convince me that Mett got a fair shot at the starting spot last year. That offense is simple compared to most.
There are freshman who take the field their first year all over D1 and have success slinging it almost every down. And ill define success as any QB with numbers better than JJ, who "won" the starting role.
So, lets call it like it is. JJ was most likely annointed the starter without a true open competition due to seniority.
Im not saying its right or wrong... Im not saying it cost us a title either. Ill let the rantards jump to those conclusions.

Probably not. But, we'll never know. which is a shame, because Miles should have tried everything he could, but didn't.
And, if JJ and JL weren't the answer, why wasn't Mettenberger brought along throughout the season so that he'd be ready for a situation like that?

By the 2nd half of the rematch, I didn't give a shite who came in. Try something, anything to make a positive play on offense.
