re: Lots of black smoke in the skies over Venezuela. Something is certainly amiss.

I've been buying off road diesel for 30 years. Sometimes it's red but I have bought it with green dye. Anyway it's made for off road vehicles, like tractors and timber cut down machines, or any machine that is not running up and down the roads.

These are some communists who've had a chance to organize and plan. They are now making noise.

I'm not saying this incident was intentional, but I had been thinking that may happen as there are probably some people not happy that we nabbed Maduro and perceive us as stealing their oil. It's also a weird situation that there wasn't really regime change, we just have Chavistas ruling at our gunpoint.

I'm guessing. But it is possible.

When you farm and buy diesel you can get tax empt diesel for your tractors. They dye it red so they can see if you try to sneak it into your car.
My aunt's ex-husband owns a demolition company. He uses red dye diesel for all his bulldozers and backhoes.
And he did actually get caught more than once sneaking red dye diesel into his personal vehicles.

Which makes it comical that so many people are claiming to use it in their personal vehicles here. They're either lying or dumb enough to be announcing to the world that they're guilty of tax evasion online.

The price of sour diesel just went up
Posted on 10/7/26 at 8:31 am to FLTech
We always had red dye diesel and allowing it for road use will just make it cost more. But it'll still save some money for some who can get it.

Hmmm. Curious timing on this.

Plenty of people know and understand red dye diesel and where and why it's used. All construction, farming, and industrial operations understand. Basically anything needing diesel that's not normally road driven. You're really showing your arse with this type of response.

I don't know about dei, but I bet they're trying to bring on line valving, piping, and equipment that haven't been properly maintained and operated in a long time. shite happens, but I suspect QA/QC during operational testing could be improved.

Amazing how there's now all of the sudden a massive influx of people who are now experts about Red Dye in Diesel. Give me a fricking break
For fricks sake. You realize that this is an SEC board and that the SEC footprint covers a lot of "rural america", right? And therefore a lot of people who post here will have grown up on farms. Yes, a lot of people here are familiar with what red dye diesel is.
