or the reverse? Beat Florida and lose to Georgia. You have to pick one scenario. Which one benefits us the most in the long run?

And yes I know winning both, or for that matter, all the rest of our games is the best scenario, just trying to have a little fun.

When you try to have a little fun, do you also think about getting punched in the dick or falling down a set of stairs?

people don't like that here

In theory, losing earlier would be ideal, even though it's only a week earlier. I think, looking at their schedule, us and Auburn are the only real threats to UGA. So beating them would look good in the polls down the road. But I'm curious how far we'd get dropped if we lost to UF.

The timing isn't that big of a deal in the CFP these days. Losing on the road to UF would be worse than losing at home to UGA, IMO. The committee likes marquis wins, and UGA would certainly fit that mold.

If you have to pick one game to lose this year, it's the first game to UGA because that means we beat Bama and go to the SEC Championship game for a rematch with UGA. You already said that we only lose one, so we win that one.

I hope we don't find out, but I get the feeling that the talking heads and pollsters are itching to shite on this LSU team if they get the chance.

I'm sure it would be quite the tumble so they can point and go, "See! We told you they weren't good from the beginning."

Not really sure why you thought this was worth a thread?

Florida appears to be not a bad loss if they place second or 3rd in the east.
We won a national title losing to Florida in 2003. It happens. They have a good team.

I would rather beat Georgia. If Florida turns out to be a 9 or 10 win team then it’s better to beat Georgia and have both a good solid win and a not terrible loss. You never know what Miami will do. That looks like a top 12 win by seasons end but you just never know. You need as many top 5 wins as you can get.

Losing either game makes all the other games must-win in order to have a chance at the playoff. So beating Bama is a given.

Who wins the East? If Georgia wins the East, I'd rather face them with Georgia having to beat us twice.

Florida wins the East, same thing, I guess. Wins over Georgia, Bama, and the rematch over Florida would be a hell of a resume.
