No CBI tourney invite for Detroit-Mercy.

If the record is one day broken, I hope it’s at least someone that got 4 years of eligibility.

The points per game record I believe may be safe forever.

I’d like to think his dad didn’t want him to break it in this manor. Gives me hope

Yes, I agree with you. Davis had an incredible career and just having his name so close to Pete’s is awesome.

I just really feel it happened the way it was supposed to. Him missing a 3 pointer at the buzzer that would have tied it seemed like destiny.

I have a lot of respect for Mike and Antoine Davis if they realized how poor it would look to be given the record and chose integrity over it.

I don't think they got an invite. The 15/16 seeds were 16-16 and 16-15.

Even for the CBI, it would have been a stretch to include a 14-19 team.

They were going to play in a large country house with lands?

I thought everyone got an invite but you had to pay like $50,000 to be in the tournament.

Hate to burst your bubble about their class and all but they a practically begging this new tournament (PS8) to invite them now.

Yeah…they did have a donor give them the money but in the end, the CBI did not give them an invitation.

I don’t think that other tournament is going to start until 2024.

Last week, Vowels said the Titans were weighing their postseason options, and there seemed to be one beyond the CBI: A new tournament called the Ps8, an eight-team event set to be played at the IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. But that tournament didn't get off the ground, and organizers changed the logo on the website to say "March 2024," when it had been planned to be played in 2023. That entry fee was said to be cheaper than the CBI's.

Buying their way into a post season tournament at a high school would just be pathetic.

I’m not sure if it was specifically in response to this situation, but the CBI announced in their press release that the tournament is now only open to teams who finish .500 or better against Division I opponents.

Think it’s the opposite, they wanted to get him the record any way possible.

We should name the court after him. Make it an honor for whomever comes close or breaks the record*. As deserving as anyone else.

* Record must be broken in 4 years or less. No double covid year nonsense in the future.
