Well, we ran the exact same offense that LSU is running right now, as far as the pass plays.
Our running game ran alot of the same plays as well. The most basic of the basic I formation plays...minus the toss lead.

Not just the defender, but the D-Line has hard time batting down passes (which seems to be happening way too much), when you don't telegraph where the ball is going.

You guys do realize there was no safety to look off? A&M was playing man with no help over the top. That's why we kept going deep, we just couldn't connect.
Your point is not valid for every play. They had a safety help knock the ball loose from Jarvis Landry on a deep go route (when Jarvis almost caught it between two people). The play before our late first half td had a safety in the middle, thus Mett threw the ball on a stiff line to try and not give the saftey time to get to Jarvis who ran a seam route. Unfortunately, Mett overthrew him, because Landry was open.
Many times A&M kept a safety in the middle, but I'd love to see a true play action, deep post (we scored vs Towson on this). The safety has to bite on the play fake as much as we run, and a post is easier to complete than a streak down the sidelines. In fact, we actually did run a true play action with 6 minutes left and Jacobs was wide open, but Mett threw a poor pass on that one.

Need to implement the stretch handoff....can run playaction off it so well.

Has Mett ever looked off a defender. To me he stares down who he is throwing to. Our next opponent will take advantage of this.
This is all on the coaching staff.. It's about time they brought in a real accomplished QB coach.. Jay paterno is available.
