Discovery would be a bitch for the SEC. I would love it.
But a corrupt judge would probably disallow what is really needed.

i agree with this....too much speculation without knowing pertinent facts. But LSU would and should release a holy war against the SEC.

That’s because most attorneys on the board probably know that there is not enough public info available to really get into the weeds. I’m an attorney but have zero experience in this area of law, have never actually read the SEC bylaws, nor am privy to the info that hasn’t been disclosed to the public yet. With that said I have doubts about filing a suit in federal court with ongoing litigation over the same issue in state court with no final order from the State courts and also the fact that the rules the SEC seem to be concerned with “being enforced” haven’t been broken yet. I say all that with the qualification that I don’t know the shite I just said I don’t know
Edited to also add that the percentage of attorneys that actually deal in contract law of this magnitude or sports law is very small percentage of the overall attorney population

Votes like this don’t get called unless there’s a desired outcome and the people calling the meeting know the outcome going in. If there ends up being a vote, how did Sankey know the vote tally before the meeting? This is the key.

If others in the conference were allowed to play pro ball in the past without any action from SEC then you have to wonder why now and why is LSU the only school being called for a vote to be removed.

You don't need to be an attorney to know that expulsion from the SEC is not up to Sankey. He works on behalf of the presidents of the universities, who ultimately are the decision makers. Per SEC Bylaws, it takes 2/3 of those presidents to vote on expelling LSU. that could happen independently of the lawsuits. I don't expect that to happen.
