Rohan Davey and that team could have beat ANYBODY at the end of that season. Rohan was ON FIRE passing for 4 or 5 of LSU's top 10 single game passing yards records that season. Josh Reed was da man!!!!

10-3 that year, beating #2 Tenn to win the SEC Championship, then crushing #7 Illinois in the Sugar Bowl...........

Agree, was a pretty bad arse team, Dom Davis and Toe were bringing the pain from the backfield as well.

gotcha........the Tigers were on a 6 game win streak to end the season. They lost to #7 Tenn & #2 Fla early that season. Then somehow let frickin Ole Miss beat them is TS. Pretty sure I almost got in a fight that game.........

Though this team was hot, they wouldn't have come close to beating Miami.

Remember, D. Hookfin was still at corner.

We would've put up a better fight than fricking Nebraska did though.

That 2001 team struggled to find itself early. WE had a lackluster performance against a very bad KY team too. I think we won like 29-25 or something like that.

That game was so cold. I remember when LSU blew the game and I was so pissed because I was freezing and we lost a game we should have won.

I'm not sure we even beat UT if Mauck doesn't come in. That draw threw UT for a loop.

not Miami. the offense was great, defense was still iffy. Illinois put up some numbers on us in the Sugar Bowl.

True dat about the QB Draw. Tenn got bit in the ARSE when they drove a knee in Rohan's ribs out of bounds........no penalty BTW. That was a Sweet Win, pun intended......

DD came up big as well. That was a sweet win, mainly because none of us were used to seeing LSU perform on a stage that big and win.

that ole miss game was a turning point. i remember the crowd booing the coaching staff as they headed into the tunnel after the blocked punt to end the half. after that, it was like a totally different offense.

the first half of the illinois sugar bowl may be the most dominant stretch of football i've ever seen LSU play. it wasn't that illinois couldn't move the ball, they couldn't even get passes past the line of scrimmage -- and we were unstoppable on offense.

Yeppers, and we spoiled a BCSNCG trip for Tenn who beat us earlier in the year. LSU was huge underdog in that game!!

I remember it snowing that year at the Sugar Bowl too.........

No, no they couldn't have beaten Miami and probably not Florida, just stop.

It was a fun ride and Davey and Reed were awesome, but we were beating (and barely beating in a couple of cases) and bunch of crappy teams, then upset UT (without Davey most of the game) and Illinois.
