Matt Canada isn't the only OC whose offense can improve over course of a season. Les' offense was so bad y'all were shell shocked by the mediocre offense of Canada

So give O excuses: Miles left big holes in lineup, so many freshmen playing, O line decimated, give him time to get his players in and turn it around.

Canada: He sucks. He needs to go.

I think I get it now.

slightly better than last year’s ranking of 59th but less than the previous three years under Cam Cameron when its average ranking was 51st.

Cam had good O-lines to work with and better WRs. Having LF for some of those years didn't hurt either. The offense did produce similar results though this year, but I do think Canada had less to work with. Cam's offense through 4 games last year averaged 19 ppg even with all that talent before he was fired.

Under Canada, how many scores in the red zone, % td's, and % conversions?

TD% was in the middle 50s percentage wise. not very good which was Orgeron's main gripe. red zone offense was not very good.

agree our qb play was our issue. I really would have liked to seen Brennan in Canada’s offense after a year to learn it. Also a ton of penalties in a new system caused us some problems this year. I think the leap we would have seen in the offense would have been incredible between the first and second year

I don't know about incredible but I believe we would have seen a big improvement. think about this year if it had been Canada's second year. also, we should not have the OL situation forcing us to play 3 freshmen while the DL was decimated.

guess we'll never know. but I have been a supporter of O since he got the job but this "incident" better turn out well or he should get canned, imo.

Who has ever said it was O’s offense against bama? That sounds like something you made up

The guy has not lasted long and been fired at virtually every stop shortly after being hired. You have a point about the dropped passes vs. Bama and the missed opportunities, but everyone could play that game...even Bama vs. AU.

Bama was banged up when we played them and they still figured out a way to win. It’s because they have a winning culture and tremendous athletes.

One thing you’re missing is Canada not landing a top QB for LSU. THIS IS his job and he’s failed miserably. The #1 Pro style QB in Houston Grant Gunnell is being recruited hard by Coach O, probably because Canada hasn’t landed anyone else. He’s committed to Texas A&M but he committed to Sumlin.

smart enough to not micromanage his assistants

I doubt aranda was micromanaged.

With a couple of exceptions Canada wasn't micromanaged.

To pull back on Canada for the purpose of simplification wasn't a bad thought. Remember 10 of those yellow flags per game in the beginning of the season.

People using this is only excuse for Hate on O.

You're being very kind. Having the 101 best red zone offense in the NCAA out of 120 schools is horrible. As bad as last season't offense was it was better in the red zone than this year's, ranking 70 out of 128.

Do you mind sharing the link for that info? I wanted to look at the info, but couldn't find it.

How bout Arandas d? Be honest about the whole team at that point. The whole team came out flat and unprepared from the start.

That's the kind of performance that happens when the defense knows that there is disarray on the offensive side of the ball, which, as is painfully obvious in retrospect, there was fantastical disarray.

I'm purely speculating, but it's plausible given the fact that Aranda seems to be consistent.

our OC should be able to beat teams like Troy with the second string in

Turnover on offense killed LSU. That and their running back picking up almost 200 yards.

LSU had over 400 yards of offense, the Troy game wasn't bad offensively.

You're just now catching on? This is exactly how it was with CLM from '08 on. Exactly.

the offense doing nothing in the first half may have caused a little fatigue due to the D playing a ton

Blame who y'all want but our Offensive Line was a major factor in our disappointing offensive production. Etling had no time in the pocket all season. Even against A&M when Brennan was in near the end of the game, he was sacked running for his life on 2 plays because of the piss poor OL production.

LSU had one 3 and out in the first half. Troy had two drives of 10 or more plays and another of 8. Fatigue in the first half wasn't the issue

Turnovers and their offensive line were the difference

Intellectually dishonest stament is dishonest. Our first fricking play was a turnover.

Arandas vaunted defense gave up 37 to State, 26 to Syracuse and 24 to Troy.

Aranda’s defense had five big men this year to rotate among the three big man positions. During that stretch only two of the five were available. Nothing Aranda could do. We were almost helpless until those guys came back.
