I’m not sure if the anti Canada people remember two dropped passes that would have led to touchdowns. But I do think he has had the best gameplan against bama we have had in a long time. The bama defense destroyed Clemson’s offense even with the defense missing a ton of starters. I really hate to see him go with only one year to implement his offense. Hopefully O can make a homerun hire.

I believe, 3 yrs from now, most will look back on this and realize that LSU probably let the wrong coach go in this instance.

Our problem has been not having a QB that can read, pass, quickly throw or run the football. All the quarter backs on the quarter final teams have and will continue to have this type of QB.

I agree our qb play was our issue. I really would have liked to seen Brennan in Canada’s offense after a year to learn it. Also a ton of penalties in a new system caused us some problems this year. I think the leap we would have seen in the offense would have been incredible between the first and second year.

Agreed

If they think enough of Aranda to give him that kind of contract why not make him head coach? He at least seems smart enough to not micromanage his assistants.

Arandas vaunted defense gave up 37 to State, 26 to Syracuse and 24 to Troy. Our whole team was in a terrible, lack of emotional motivation funk. It took Duke Riley to come in and call them out to help turn this around. That screams of a head coach who couldn’t motivate his own team. You’re looking at this thing much too narrowly. Big problems are always at the top.

Of course he did, but how much is that really saying? LSU thought for years that they could run right at the teeth of the Bama defense.

How bout Arandas d? Be honest about the whole team at that point. The whole team came out flat and unprepared from the start.

For all the anti-Canada folks, just remember that this was the first season in a while that our offense improved throughout the season. We parted ways (fired) the wrong guy.

The stats don't back that claim - at all. Canada was better than what we had in years past, but he was only an average OC.

Matt Canada isn't the only OC whose offense can improve over course of a season. Les' offense was so bad y'all were shell shocked by the mediocre offense of Canada

Haha. Well, we had a great early bomb for a TD called back on a complete phantom call, so that didn't help. Also, Arranda's D got destroyed. State rushed for 285 yards on us. We weren't winning that game no matter who we had calling offensive plays. Now for the Troy game, O's tweaked offense scored 0 points in the 1st half. Canada's offense scored all the points in the 2nd half. And then the fighting started even more...

I feel like with the caliber players we have at LSU, our OC should be able to beat teams like Troy with the second string in. The talent gap is so wide its not even funny.
Either way, you can blame O or Canada but the offense struggled even with him here

Just for clarification....when did the O meddling take place? I've seen Troy. I've seen Moo State. I've seen Bama. I'm totally confused now. Cuz now you're saying it was Canada's offense for Bama.

I think I'm seeing the Rant logic....bad play...O meddling. Good play. Canada's offense....I think I'm catching up.
