I'm counting 15 @ the DL group... DT, DE & Edge. However, in this recruiting / portal season, things are a bit fluid, but it looks like...

Seniors:
Jordan Jefferson
Ovie Oghoufo

Juniors declaring for the NFL Draft:
Mekhi Wingo
Maason Smith

Remaining:
Jacobian Guillory
Da’Shawn Womack
Jalen Lee
Sai’vion Jones
Paris Shand
Bradyn Swinson
Jaxon Howard
Preston Hickey
Dylan Carpenter

Committed/Signed:
Shone Washington - Juco
Gabriel Reliford
Dominick McKinley
De'Myrion Johnson
Ahmad Breaux
CJ Jackson

Portal Out:
Quency Wiggins - Transferred to Colorado
Bryce Langston
Fitzgerald West
Tygee Hill - Transferred to Oregon St.

Good call. LSU lists him @ LB, but he's lined up at edge... adding.

Not quite as dire as it appears
The key will be how quick the newcomers get up to speed
Plus you do have some versatility with some of the new guys coming in

100% agree. Decent mix of youth and experience. Plus, the addition of Bo Davis coaching this unit.

Pete Jenkins said that when Bo Davis called him to tell him he was taking the job, Pete had to explain to him how bad of shape the DL room is in right now.

Shone is a former Ohio St 5* recruit. They don't miss too often and maybe he had some educational issues going in but if he can revert back to that 5* status it would go a long ways to offsetting losing Jefferson and Wengo. Guillory was really coming on at the end of the year and was causing disruption on the line. If he can come back even stronger and learn to not get stupid 15 yd penalties I think with some portal pickups after spring and the development of some of the younger guys, we can excel on Dline. I think with Baker our blitzing packages are going to help tremendously.

When you breakdown the numbers by position you see interior DL is the main concern.

Bo Davis is gonna get the most out of these guys though. The most productive guys on the DLine for Texas last season were two 3-stars and one low 4-star. They combined for 25.5 TFLs and 12.5 sacks.
