A couple of these girls teach at the studio my daughter is at and they’re awesome and we’re always cheering for them..
And yes, they absolutely got robbed, the one thing I’ve definitely learned since my daughter has been involved in competitive dance is that judging can get purely political at times and it frickin sucks.

Any competition where judges solely decide the winner is always a bit suspect. Too much of an opening for human bias to creep in.

There was definitely some wokeiam going on with the judging. I think Minnesota won something and the UNLV dudes.

They won nationals in 2024, 2 years ago. Yes, a lot of people feel that's won of the best ever. The GOAT.
They placed 2nd in hip hop yesterday and much of the dance world feels they were robbed. UNLVs score jumped by a ridiculous amount from semis to finals even though there were no deductions in semis that would have been corrected. LSUs routine stayed about the same.
They also got 2nd in Jazz with a cool Brittany throwback to her Oops I Did it Again performance in Vegas. It's the highest they ever placed in Jazz.

Possibly why they got 2nd, as UNLV had several. Also, this is not considered a coed team or women's team event. It's just a team. In some other genres, there are coed categories.

Let's face it. LSU should have won any competition this year based on that clip that I saw. The judging was definitely a factor and it could very well have been song selection. The Kendrick Lamar song done at Superbowl Halftime last year was one of their selections and I will let you figure out the rest. They should have won either way.

We should note that every round is started with a 0.00 score and new judges so UNLV didn't jump up 2 points. They got a higher score in the finals round by different judges. And UNLV is a hip hop legacy and their choreography is always top tier too. Even if you feel LSU should have been 1st doesn't take away that UNLV can fricking dance and they dance really good.
