Bill Belichik was out of work for months after being fired from Cleveland. I guess he sucks as a coach.
You made my day with this.

Jerrard Randall was ranked higher than Mariota and Manziel....just did not quite work out the same.

Lol. He has been out of work for 5 months. He is 63.
Please show me all these 63 year old coaches getting offers from major programs. Please. You people keep making this claim.
I also dont know if you understand that not many major jobs opened up.
If he were 55 he would be getting offers.
He has been more successful than his predecessor at every stop.
He took a program that had 1 winning season from 87-2000 and had them respectable and winning 9 games.
If you think a 55 year old miles with his resume wpuldnt get major job offers then you clearly dont understand the retread nature of cfb coaching.
Im not sucking miles' dick when i say 63 year old coaches arent getting major job offers. Its called reality.
Please name 1 63 year old coach getting major job offers in the last 10 years.
I love how posters like you think being out of coaching for 5 months means he sucks as a coach.
For the record, you have no clue what miles has been offered. You have no idea what his agent said no to or what wasnt offered.

there are all of 2 coaches older than 61 coaching at a p5 program but yeah miles being 63 isnt an issue
Im sorry you dont understand that 63 year old coaches dont get major offers. It doent mean miles wasnt a decent coach when he doesnt get major offers.

Im sorry facts about miles tenure doesnt fit your opinion.
I have no devotion to miles. I have a devotion to reality and facts.
This place is one of the few places where posting facts get you labeled a miles apologist or a hater.

Its like you dont understand that i have the same right to post in a Miles thread as you do. The difference is im using facts and you people are using opinions.
Its also pretty amazing that you and posters like you dont realize that you shitting on miles in every post is no different than when i post facts about miles' tenure.
Youre so blinded by your miles hate that you cant even see your own hypocrisy. So let me lay it out for you.
1.You shat on Miles and lsu's accomplishments under miles for over a decade, with opinions, yet you didnt see that as wanting lsu to lose because you didnt like the coach.
Yet,when i post FACTS about Coach O you see that as me wanting lsu to lose.
2. Youre perfectly fine with a portion of lsu posters that do nothing but use their opinion to shite on miles and try to diminish his tenure
Yet when i use FACTS to try to bring some logic into the discussion, youre tired of it.
3. You call me a broken record as if im supposed to change my stance of using facts in an argument.
Yet you have been using the same tired opinions about miles for 11 years.
4. You see my posting of facts about Saban's tenure as shitting on saban.
Yet you see my posting of facts as defending miles.
5. Youve repeatedly said wins and losses are what matters the most.
Yet you keep saying miles win% is meaningless and the fact that miles last 5 years have a better win loss record than Saban's tenure is also meaningless.
Lets just be honest. You only like and value facts and stats when they support your argument.
For the record, ive repeatedly said Miles shouldve been fired at the end of 2015. Ive also repeatedly said our offense looked better once he was gone. Ive repeatedly said his refusal to allow our qbs to throw over the middle severely handicapped our offense.
Yet all the above things are meaningless and im labeled a miles defender because i use facts to support my opinion that miles was a good coach.
Was he great, no. Was he a great game day coach? No.
Posters like you fail to realize that there are very few coaches that can recruit at an elite level and are elite level game day coaches. Thats what makes them the most successful coaches in cfb.
Ive never once said miles was an elite or great coach but he damn sure wasnt a bad coach or just an average coach. Ive repeatedly i ranked him in the top 15-20.
In summary, i couldnt care less if youre tired of seeing me post facts.

Ricky, let me ask you this. What do you think was the downfall of Les Miles??
Posted on 2/14/17 at 9:37 am to Howyouluhdat

Ricky, let me ask you this. What do you think was the downfall of Les Miles??
There are multiple reason.
1.His inability to project hs qbs talent and their ability to operate in a prostyle offense.
2. His refusal to allow our qbs to throw over the middle severely handicapped our offense since 2008.
3. His refusal to play to our qbs strengths and playcalling that exposed our qbs weaknesses.
4.Coaching in the same division that lsu's former coach that is probably the best cfb coach ever.
5. The sec west becoming by far the most talent rich division in cfb. Lsu no longer could win games by having a great recruiter and great motivator that had questionable game day coaching.
Miles was justly fired. That in no way means he wasnt a good coach and that he somehow sucked.
Everyone agrees Miles is a worse coach than saban.
Everyone agrees saban is the best coach of our generation.
Everyone agrees that bama has the by far the most talented roster.
The best coach of our generation with by far the most talent loses every year. So its not some huge failure for a lesser coach like miles to lose 2-3 games.
If we wouldve just fired miles after A&M in 2015 then we wouldnt have wasted 2016. 2016 was supposed to be the year but FKing lacking a spine robbed us of that special year imo.

Ricky,
I commend you on your first three. I think they're pretty close to the root cause of Les's woes.
But Les's troubles in finding a new gig have little to do with his age and more to do with the reputation he accrued here of being an egregious underachiever. Saban, Belichick, and Carroll are all older than Les. Teams would be lining up to hire them if they were available. Spurrier was 60 in his first season at SC.
All your little "facts" that you boast in are overshadowed by this one fact: Les has a well earned reputation of underachieving.
