Dorsey and Faulk are only ones even close IMO.

I don't think that LSU retires numbers of players that are not graduates.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think they even retired Pistol Pete's number for this reason. Odd that the building is named after him though.
nm that is not correct according to lsuports.net
I think I read that on wikipedia somewhere

I've always believed that to get a number retired, not only should the player excel on the field but in the classroom and off the field too.
Andrew Luck should be a good example of what it takes to get a number retired. Kid was a Heisman candidate, put up great numbers, does well in class, passed up the projected #1 draft pick after his head coach left so he could return and lead his team.

More than just the Lions trying to trade up for PP7.

There have been some great players over the years but if you start retiring numbers because they were great players what you gonna do when you run out of numbers? I've never been a fan of retired numbers unless it's a tragic accident where a great person doesn't get to play anymore and the number is retired in their honor! Other than that let someone else wear it and see if they can live up to the hype of filling the shoes of the ones before them.

They picked the wrong year to be mediocre.

They were willing to have traded their 1st, 2nd, and 4th round picks for Peterson and the cardinals said "No"
Jay Cutler approves of this.

I think the Cardinals wanted him more

Cheap shot Fairley will definately be out of league in three years. He will play dirty his rookie season, loses knees in payback 2nd year, tries to rehab 3rd year then gone! and GOOD RIDDANCE!!!!

They were last against the run last year.
Close to last 24th. Buf. was last and they got the other great DT.

I give Fairley under 3 years in the League.
...unless he gets his mind right. The behavior he has exhibited, heretofore, will not be tolerated by the collective NFL offensive linemen he will face. I can already hear the conversations:
"Okay - he's young an brash, just like we were. If it's borderline, we give him one warning. If it's flagrant or repeated, we high-low him one good time and send him to the training room. Heck, I haven't been suspended since 2008 or fined since 2009."
