Do you want the 2003 or the 2006 beatdown? They were both brutal for them.

I do remember that their coach in 2003 said before the game when asked about the opportunity to upset a ranked LSU team at home in Arizona, "It's not an upset when you're the better team."

What a dumbass. No wonder he got fired.

Well, this officially ends the LSU-USC split 2003 title....right?

The best thing about the 2003 LSU/UA game was when the announcer on TBS said at halftime, "the only way Arizona can win this game is if they put a whole bottle of colon blow in the LSU gatorade"

That was a brutal showing for Zona. If I recall correectly, it was on TBS.

You would be right. It was one the few LSU games you will see on TBS again. That game piqued interest in LSU a good bit. I would rank the games that year according to the pollsters fait in LSU being contenders.

1. UGA
2. Auburn
3. Zona
4. UGA 2

What is sort of ironic, is that USC beat a number 1 ranked Auburn early in the year to get a huge boost in the rankings that year. We beat them almost as bad later in the year. Aubie and Zona were our only common opponents that year.

I know Auburn in 2003 was a favorite to win the National Championship. But they weren't ranked number one preseason (they were #6 in both polls), and USC was Auburn's first game of the year. It definately helped USC to beat Auburn on CBS the first game of the year.
