Braswell should be back.

Without knowing exactly what will happen with the draft:
- Infielders: We need to get infielders. 3B is high priority. SS and 1B may be high priority depending on what Bras and Jones do.
- Outfielders: We're probably fine here. I still wouldn't pass up a stud in the portal, even if that means pushing Larson to 1B or pushing other OFs to other positions.
- Catcher: We're probably fine here with Neal, Priester, etc.
- Starting Pitching: We need another top end guy to go with what we will have back and healthy.
- Pitching Depth: Overall, we should be good here.
I agree with all this, but you're in the minority. Everyone here wants to overhaul the whole roster and completely punt on the development that comes from the roster having gone through the adversity it did this year.

He's a junior and hit over 300 this year. I think he's gone.

You are completely off base here. Jones is gone and Frey will be at 1st.

someone else already said it but its hard to be good at hitting when you only get to pinch hit. Hitting is something that needs consistency.

Aside from hitting .300 here are other things he did:
- cut his K rate by 7%
- cut his ground ball rate by 19%
- More than doubled his career HR total.
- Nearly doubled his career XBH total.
- Increased his ISO by 50 points.
- year over year increased his slash line by 50/30/100 points
People need to understand that development isn't linear and that Jay knows how to make guys better.

What are the chances of Jump coming back? I assume slim to none but it'd be really cool if he did.

I think we just need something to look forward to and to get that bad taste out of our mouths

He's going to get paid handsomely, he ain't coming back.
We need another SP from the portal simply for the proven innings. We have upside guys waiting in the wings but without the innings under their belt.

Trevor Schmidt will be an option at 1st, JUCO guy who Jay originally recruited to Arizona.

I don't think this is true. Most just want to punt on Kling and Neal. Everyone else that contributed is welcomed back, the incoming freshmen are welcome, and any transfers are welcome.
I don't think anyone wants to see Milam, Larson, or Brown gone. No one wants Anderson, Herring, Shores, Guidry, or Cam Johnson gone.
Most don't want Pearson, Frey, Kucherak, Moffett, Ulloa, Noot, Loer, Coleman, Roelig, Ruddell, or Mitchell gone. Some meatheads might want some of this group gone but the are definitely the minority.
We really need to add 2-4 solid transfers between infield and pitching and I think we will be good.

This is probably well off, but just some thoughts even with the draft and portal upcoming.
Rotation:
-You'll be without Jump and Ack as well as Holman.
-Have to think it's Shores, Anderson, and potentially Herring or Noot.
-Cam Johnson could make a push.
-Portal is highly likely for one more experienced guy.
-Feel like you'd love for Herring to remain in his role as 1st guy out of the pen/late game relief.
Outfield:
-You'll be without Bingham, but otherwise should be fine.
-Some combination of Pearson (if he doesn't go, he's got 1 more year and his brother coming in may be enough of an incentive to stay and play together), Kling (if he doesn't go to the portal), Brown, and Larson.
Infield:
1B - Jones is gone IMO - but would love to get him back somehow. That said, you're probably looking portal or Frey here.
2B - Milam should have that locked down, but Jay did say in the SEC tourney interviews that Milam could be a shortstop next year. Don't think we're seeing a change.
SS - Braswell should be back. I don't think we're seeing a change here as he indicated he's interested/would love to stay another year.
3B - Portal is absolutely the move here. I don't think we have someone ready to step into this role.
C - Neal and incoming freshman Priester should have us in a good position. Not worried at all, but we do lose a bit of defense in Milazzo. Have to see if Neal can improve a little behind the plate - especially with keeping balls in front.
DH: Frey is a good candidate - as is one of the odd ones out from the outfield (Jake Brown?), but not sure. A nice bat from the portal would be nice.
Rotation Depth:
-I think we're in a great position here. Will need a quality arm or two from the portal to replace a few of these guys (i.e. Ack, Hellmers, Little).
-Will have Ulloa, Coleman, Guidry, Dutton, Kade Woods, Bronzini, and Moffett potentially.
-Hurd is probably gone.
-Hope Loer moves on; just didn't seem to be the right fit. Same with Primeaux.
Staff:
-Think you give Yeskie one more year to get stuff together - would be nice for continuity after so much change in coaching over the last few years there; though rumors have flown that he's getting interest from West Coast teams.
-The staff should be relatively set if Yeskie stays. You'll never replace Wanaka and the other coaches seemed okay.
Idk - just some thoughts because I'm not quite ready to tune out of baseball season. I'm probably wrong on some parts of this and don't have all of the detail with the incoming class/portal, of course. Geaux Tigers though.

I've definitely had frustrations with Yeskie this year, and was only lukewarm on the hire to begin with. But the staff got better as the season went on and one of the patterns with Yeskie over his career is that he's very good with long term development.
I don't think I'll be upset if he stays or he leaves.

They showed no signs of improvement this year and I’m not exaggerating literally none.
I think Kling showed some improvement at the plate late in the year. I didn’t parse the numbers; that is just my guy feel. Still wasn’t very good, but improved.

I agree. The key to me is if Noot and Shores can turn into who we think they might be. Add in Johnson, Woods, Moffett, Anderson, Herring and Primeaux.
Like you said, lots of guys with not much innings. I hope Herring returns.
Jake Brown could move into 1st base.

Primeaux was one of the biggest head scratchers of the year after the way Johnson talked him up in the preseason.

Is Jake Brown the pitcher a thing of the past? Just curious if they would consider him on the mound as a reliever. He could do both like Austin Bain did.

I’ll go best case scenario
Written In Stone
1B - Jones
2B - Milam
Strong Options
Larson - COF
Options but we need to bring in Competition:
C Neal
OF Pearson
OF Brown
Freshmen or Transfer
3B - honestly I dont think we have one on the team right now. Fountain if he makes it to campus could be an option. Massive dude.
SS - I think Braswell is gone. Milam is an option but I love his at second. I want to see how Kucherak hits over the summer. I think this and 3rd are prime spots for transfers.
DH-again, prime spot for someone.
Outfield, Catcher, left side infield are prime spots for impact freshmen and transfers.

I thought Yeskie did a nice job this year. It started off shaky but the big turnaround at the end of the year was mostly due to pitching. We scored at about the same clip all year long. We started winning when pitching improved. Hell we were on game 5 of the weekend last night and held the number 4 team in the country with 7 .300+ hitters to 2 runs through 8 innings and 4 runs total.
