LSU's QB issues continue
Because the 4th or 5th string QB transferred? Nah
Starting QB- coming off back surgery
2nd on depth chart- limited playing time and unproven
2 incoming freshmen- totally unproven at college level
I guess your right and we are in solid position with no QB issues.

Simply put,he was not going to beat out Myles Brennan or Lowell Narcisse on a bad
day. Lindsay Scott came up with the diagnosis himself. Wish him lots of luck in Jr College where he can compete and play.

It's a rough position with very few that are elite at it. I'm trying to think of one school that hasn't struggled at that spot recently and it might be bama. Speaking of top programs. But that could be because the rest of the team is stacked and that kiffin did wonders with what he had.
Doesn't mean at the start of last season, starting a freshmen, was an ideal situation for them.

Get over it. Scott left. We didn't ask him to leave.

Would a Redshirted unproven freshmen with no playing time drastically change the situation?

Is this thread still alive lol. Ill avoid multiple post by responding to a few in this one.
It was smart decision. The best SEC QBs are DT guys (Hurts, Fitzgerald, Patterson). Its a running back league. Teams with mobile QBs, with great defense tend to fair better.
No question. He was not going get the job. He diagnosed the fact that he was not going to be afforded the opportunity. JUCO was a smart decision because it opens his recruitment up. I read that he had offers, but wanted game experience in 2017. I think it worked out for everyone in the end. I'm sure Scott got better while he was here, and we have found our QB.
He left on his own. Win/Win for everybody.
This depth chart is better than a little people think. Each one of the guys here (including) Scott could potentially bring something to the table. Ultimately, the coaches get to decide who they want. Lets let it play out.

"Afforded the opportunity" = "given the chance." No need to use big words here.
And bullshite - he WAS given a chance. It doesn't take long for an experienced OC to see which QBs have what he wants. Scott had an entire spring under Canada (and was redshirted in 2016). A player doesn't need to run with the first team or get substantial playing time in games to have been "given a chance."

Will being "misdiagnosed" by LSU adversely affect Scott's Heisman chances?
Posted on 8/17/17 at 2:04 pm to TrueTigerTale
I wish Scott well but it's not as if he was kicked off the team. Instead, he left very early in his carer. It's not as if he hung in there for four years and never got a shot.
As for Prescott, yes, LSU missed on him. But we were not alone.
