Coach O deserved coach of the year, if we give the lifetime contract to coach O we also need to give a lifetime contract to joe brady.

Congratulations to Joe burrow for winning heisman. Now your the GOAT.

Lifetime contract? Hold on. Bennie Ellender got a lifetime contract after Tulane beat LSU in 1973 and I think the Greenies are still paying on it. Let him win the next two games and give him a huge raise and an extension.

I mean it’s an online forum.. isn’t it more of the suckers who fell for his lies fault? Seems pretty petty to have such hatred for an online poster. Did his lies affect everyone that much??

Lifetime contracts are a terrible idea for all involved. Of the many problems here are just a few..

- the coaching salary market is reset every 5 years or so. A lifetime contract could stop him from getting deserved raises and having a competitive salary.

- everyone needs new motivation every so often. Performing for a new contract and more money is healthy and brings out the best in people.

- anyone with absolute security will have to fight hard against complacency.

- Lifetime contracts invite Fiefdoms, placing a single coach above the program. LSU would be giving away any leverage.

- this template we started with Orgeron is built on the concept of him taking less money so he could keep the program stocked with top flight coordinators, assistants and analysts. A lifetime contract would be undoing everything that’s brought us this success.
