At least Tate put it in writing that student athletes are more important than LSU in general.

I hope Wade goes scorched earth and drops the goods on all the “blue blood” basketball programs

Only thing exhausting is that our president and director allowed the men's basketball team to get bullied by officials every game and never spoke up and never defended anything. frick woodward

To be fired with cause says to me they’re confident in the case against Wade.
And NO ONE is surprised. Everyone knows he’s been cheating.

Notably, our decision to terminate Coach Wade and Coach Armstrong is not an acknowledgement of agreement with any of the allegations.

You'd think the Football issues go away as part of this deal.
They had to let him go before the Tournament in case they made a Sweet 16 run.

It literally makes no sense, why not fight it (which is what Kansas is doing and UNC did) and then whatever happens happens? Now that we fired a top coach in America who led us back to national relevance and thus basically admitted guilt to ALLEGATIONS BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT EVEN STARTED, we’re setting ourselves to get negatively recruited against and hire some bum head coach bc we won’t be relevant with forthcoming NCAA sanctions. IT’S LIKE LSU WANTS ME TO STOP CHEERING FOR THEM.

You're not alone.

First, I'm a huge fan of Will Wade and have supported him pretty strongly all throughout this stuff.
That said, this was termination "for cause" which means there's meat on the bones with the allegations that Woodward and Tate received. The fact that an assistant also took shrapnel and got fired means that this was deeper, more coordinated, and more extensive than most of us, myself included, have been willing to believe up until now.
It sucks. It always sucks when people you like let you down. But that's where we're at. I want to be disappointed in Woodward and Tate, but based on the wording of that letter and the "for cause" termination, I'm disappointed in Will Wade. I wish him well and hope he does land on his feet again. I still think he's a good young coach and could have a bright future.
Now we sit back and let all these pieces fall into place. Ultimately, there will be NCAA penalties that we deal with. Also, Woodward will be hiring a new basketball coach. His hires so far have been very good, so I'm interested to see if we can actually manage to upgrade from Wade after all of this.
Sad day for Wade, sad day for LSU basketball, sad day for LSU all around ... but it's the start of what could eventually turn out very well for Tiger fans in the long run.
Spot. On.

KU gave Bill Self a lifetime contract that stipulates he can’t be fired for NCAA findings.

More secrecy, the handmaiden of lies. Why has this taken so long?

Sad day for Tiger fans. Not for the loss of Wade but for the embarrassment that, for so many years, the entire country including Tiger fans and LSU administration, knew how dirty this guy was, and never did anything about it, because it's all about winning.

I am not sure what you are
Sooo mad about? Did you watch the scheme? The only reason he kept his job as long as he did is he hired Bruce Pearls attorney out of New York. They literally have the smoking gun with his DNA all over it.

It means they will fight some. The Wade message to a bag man saying he needed 50k for the Memphis kid you cannot fight.

We should hire the North Texas basketball coach.
