Sponsorship is affecting it as well. Last time I went to Walk-Ons for the radio show, the entire room where Miles was doing the broadcast was reserved for corporate. Got there two hours early. Same thing with bash. Can't get close to stage anymore thanks to reserved tables. They keep pushing the fans away so eventually the fans. Quit coming.

Better wifi, alcohol, have other games on tvs inside the stadium, better parking and an easier time leaving. Still won't stop students from leaving early and won't stop the fans either. The culture is just different now.

Televise only conference games or games against major opponents.
Reduce the use of piped in music, a major annoyance in stadium.
Reduce ticket prices in some sections of the stadium and sell more game by game tickets. Most season ticket holders seems to me are wealthy people that hold them for status and give them to their relatives that don't care about football. I know someone that keeps his tickets and an rv spot but has not gone to a game in 10 years. They are seldom used at all, but he often mentions that he is a season ticket holder.
Return some parking to free lots, such as the levee lot.

The day and age of not filling up big arse stadiums is here. Implode Tiger Stadium ad build a first class facility that seats about 70k and would get loud as hell. Limit tailgating set ups to tailgates.

-Sell beer
-Constantly update scores or even during every timeout/commercial show the hot sec game or top ten matchup on video board consistently to the level you expect that to happen. During these rent a win games I stay at tailgate or go home so I can flip
-make tiger stadium more comfortable. Those custom seats should be installed everywhere. Reduce capacity and make seats bigger.
-HDTVs instead of 1995 zeniths. Show other games on designated areas.
-points system for postseason just like students.
-finally employ cats to use parking downtown and labeege etc. incentivize using buses by giving free soft drink or hotdog with bus ticket.

Tailgating has become a distraction from the game experience. People drink all day and are pooped by 7 pm
This is just dumb and untrue.
Tailgating today at LSU if anything sucks compared to years past.

As a student, the best parts of going were the game and the band. If you didn't feel like going, you could just give your buddy your ticket. All three of those are diminished now

Two things:
1. Get rid of TV time-outs. How? See the thread I started a year ago about this. Put virtual billboards on the field, like they do with the virtual yellow first down stripe. Only TV viewers can see it. The ads will be seen more than ads are now, since now TV watchers either use the time to get another beer or they FF thru it on DVR. It totally eliminates the "red hat guy" who goes on the field signaling a TV time-out. Breaks are only for quarters, halftime, etc. Game lasts 3 hours tops. Flow of game is not interrupted and people will stay.
2. Quit frisking students at the gate. They can then bring whatever provisions that will incentivize them to stay the entire game. There may be more fan-on-fan fights, but even that will provide more excitement for the other fans.

The DJ was pretty good last night.

1. Stop allowing all day tailgating with exception of motor homes. Start it at noon or later on Saturday. Don't let the game be secondary to tailgating.
2. Decrease ticket prices so you don't price out the common man. Could also allow for reduced price tickets to kids and teens.
3. Allow people to leave and re-enter the stadium. They could also pass off their tickets to others if they leave at halftime.

If you think LSU fans were lacking last night, go to yewtoob and look at the Tennessee game. It looked like 10k people showed up to a 100k stadium

I agree that the stadium is too big. Way too big. Last year we filled it up all of once. This year we may not fill it at all.

The South Carolina stadium was also about half full yesterday, which is shocking because the SC fans are known for showing up no matter what

I may post more abt. this later, BUT
What if the objective of Tiger Football ( and its sports generally) was not making money?
What if it was a host of objectives that included preserving traditions, insuring accessibility to games for loyal fans who don't have lots of money, but will stay to the endin a driving rain? Maybe a permissible objective might be enshrining La.culture?
And what if these objectives did not involve sacrificing excellence on the field?
We've simply adopted the conventional wisdom of sports without considering whether we have something special to preserve...

If you fill it up, that means the stadium isn't too big. Better question is why aren't you consistently filling it up?

And PLEASE, for the love of God, stop the choreographed "Tiger fans, join us in the L-S-U-Tigers chant around the stadium!!!"
That is so terrible and contrived. I hate it.

Get rid of the piped in music and allow the students to run fricking wild. I used to complain about the students and some of their antics. To hell with it. If they want to scream STTDB, then let them do it.
We need those students to be fricking savages. I'm talking about the days of making Tebow cry after his phone number was stolen. I was wrong about the students not playing a HUGE role in the atmosphere of Tiger Stadium.
