bourgeois? i dont think he'll see many meaningful innings this year, no disrespect

i tend to agree with that, but the last time i saw him pitch, the bats were more juiced and we had shite for a pitching coach.

I know it's football season but, LSU gets Florida in a Thursday night baseball game on ESPNU's SEC game of the week.

Would like to see ESPNU come down here....our non conference schedule is pretty bad this year. Obviously not doing any favora in the committee's eyes. This season should not be debatable. Our pitching should be good enough come selection Monday it won't be debatable.

Yeah too bad we don't get them here. It looks like Florida's baseball team is suffering from success like our football team. They have 3 Thursday prime time SEC games.

He says Fr. Tyler Moore has won the 1B job out of camp.

Just curious where this came from? I got to watch a couple fall scrimmages and all I saw Tyler Moore play was catcher. How did he do at first? He didn't hit great the games I saw, but didn't do horrible. Is he better at the plate than Dozar?

Its in the Tigerbait article i mentioned

quote:

Freshman Tyler Moore finished fall practice as the starting first baseman.

"Tyler Moore is a player who can succeed at this level," Mainieri said. "He brings us something that we need - a lefthanded bat. He is extremely poised. He is an above average first baseman."

I'm glad some new guys are stepping up. I couldnt handle another season of the edward/dozar platoon at 1B and corner OF. Hopefully these guys can produce.

I've heard little Nola is still in position to possibly go for the closer job as well.

Also, another Catholic kid, Sciambra, may sneak into the outfield as well if we can't get some bats going.

Moore can hit and doesn't strike out much.

I can't get how we couldn't put a hitter at first base position all last season. Not to mention the hole in the outfield too.

Did anyone go to the coaches committee meeting tonight? Anything enlightening?

I was there as a guest of Honkus (thanks Honkus). Not much new info but I was not aware that Dykstra had left the team. Other than that, the same old stuff: we are going to be much better on the mound (8-9 deep), not a lot of HRs but best hitting lineup we've had in years, yada, yada. Next year's class is sick, but I doubt the best will make it to campus.
