I like Vitello, but tough to say no to McDonnell's resume if he wanted to jump.

Vitello, McDonnell, and Godwin are easily my top 3 and would be fine with any of those (among some others)

Here's my top 3:

1) McDonnell
2) Godwin
3) Vitello

Is this a good thing?

Both of these guys are easily my top 2 choices. I really can't decide. I almost lean Vitello, because he is younger.

I like McDonnell too.

Just curious, why do you think this?

To me his teams consistently look the part in the amount of arms, tools, and prospects. Probably the closest thing to Vanderbilt out there in that regard.

And he’s building his rosters without elite in state talent and without any financial aid loopholes (that I’m aware of), which should translate well.

If you can get McDonell, he’s the guy.

Third guy on the list and great hire should be Lane Borroughs.

Burroughs would be third tier, not third guy.

frick it, give both a cool 1.5 and split it... vitello takes recruiting and McDonnel leads.. best of both worlds...

He recruits & develops in that cold weather, football first, Ohio river valley. He’s had numerous high picks & several more in the pipeline. We take that for granted but it’s louisville, ya know?

He’s hard nosed but likable. His teams play hard & with edge & competitively

Has SEC experience, so he understands the game from that perspective. And as a HC understands what it takes to consistently be great.

He’s flexible. He’s had two-way players (which I love). He is a proponent of kids playing all sports as they grow.

Thank you. I’d be thrilled with him.

In early May I’m sure you saw there were posts of him already being in the bag.

That, combined with UL’s uncharacteristic plummet as of late had me believing it was really him.

Now I’m not as confident with reports of KOS being the target. Unless they’re smokescreens.

I agree.

I much prefer McDonnell over KOS.

I hope those are smokescreens as well.

McDonnell is exactly as Lester said. He’s tough, but likable. I really like that. I also think what he has done at Louisville is more impressive than any coach at Florida.

I am also really big on Vitello. I really hope it is one of these two.

I have to believe the lack of fans in the stands are a part of getting a new head coach. All the fans aren't millionaires. They want value for the dollar.
