Dabo is making it work and didn’t have coordinator experience. But yeah fully agree I don’t like the idea of having a head coach that always needs two strong coordinators to win

Dabo isn't a fair comparison though. Not many head coaches have the luxury of having a top notch DC that stays put like Dabo has. He's the exception to the rule.

Dabo but he has Venables so he is an outlier

Pittman at Arkansas
Cristobal at Oregon

Both Dabo and Cristobal have been Co-OC for a year before getting the full-time job. I guess they did a fine job.

Building a championship program requires more than one national championship. It also doesn't include .500 seasons.

There is a guy at Clemson who has 2 NC's you might want to talk to

Do you really think Dabo "basically has no expertise on either side of the ball and basically is just a motivator and recruiter"?

The difference at LSU vs other programs for the exception of Aranda and Brady(doubtful O gave any boost) is that LSU is a career killer for young coaches. Working for Saban, Sweeney and others are a plus on a resume. Large majority go on and have success. Work for Orgeron and your career trajectory is in peril!

Its 2021...

There should have been an app for that binder.

Perhaps the lack of creative imagination that enabled using the old binder in the first place is the root of many problems.

wasn't Kiffin supposed to be the coordinator?

Anyone who ever bought into Kiffin working under O is a moron. A HC in the NFL and 2 major college programs, 2 of which O was on staff so he knew what O is/was, was never going to work under O.

Very valid point. It peggy backs to my next take on why can't Coach O secure quality coordinators? Ones that he can vet and recruit for his staff? LSU is known throughout coaching circles for paying assistants above market. That tells me no coordinator wants to work for this clown or they see the inevitable implosion and said f that. Brad Davis, I do like a lot. But Davis is from Baton Rouge and probably wanted the opportunity to work back in his hometown.

Both Gene Chizik and Larry Coker had a championship. Both were incompetent head football coaches.
